Suddenly, he felt a solid impact send him to the ground. He struggled to get up, but the man was quick to grab Vash’s gun out of his holster and toss it away while his other arm pinned Vash’s prosthetic down to the ground. “Sorry, Blondie…”
Vash gasped, recalling those same words from months ago. He met the man’s gaze, and sure enough, there was a red gleam to his otherwise brown eyes. “It’s you-”
His words died in his throat as the man leaned down and brushed his nose right against Vash’s pulse point, sending shivers down Vash’s skin. “It’s not personal, it’s just…” There was genuine sadness in that raspy voice, “...a man’s gotta eat.”
