Nai looked out over the balcony of his shower room and stared into the distance at the dungeon of the new imperial palace. Vash was there, in the hands of that horrible old man, suffering many abuses. His fists clenched in anger, but also in frustration. He wanted to enter the palace and escape with Vash...but he'd promised Brad he'd follow their plan. Nai closed his eyes, rested his head against the rim of the porcelain bathtub and imagined Vash at his side, smiling and his eyes sparkling with happiness.
