Logan’s pov
Lately I’ve been having a problem with others.The problem is people keep asking me out and it is flattering but at the same time it’s really hard to turn down these people. I don’t mean to sound mean but I genuinely don’t like them in a romantic way. I honestly don’t like anyone for the most part. My crushes have always been characters so I don’t know if they count but I digress. Lately I’ve been thinking of a way were I could live my life normally again and don’t have to turn down people, but it’s a little risky and can become really messy, but I think that this could work out.

*Knock knock*
“Come in!”
I walk into Virgil’s room. He's on the floor listening to music while Roman is playing on his phone.
“Roman, can I talk to you in my room for a bit ?” I say in a serious tone.
“Uhh sure” Roman taps Virgil “I’m going to talk to your brother I’ll be back.”
Virgil nods and goes back to listening to his phone.
Roman closes his door and follows me through the hall
“what’s going on you’re more serious than usual.”
I opened my door and sat on the bed. “ You can sit on the swivel chair. I know you like to spin plus you should sit because the thing we’re about to discuss is not our usual topic of conversation.”
He sits down and sways side to side.” Is this about the Microsoft Nerd comment because if it is I’m sorry I thought we just kinda have a bit going we make clear jabs at each other but really we’re buddies if it’s too much I’ll stop.”
“ No it’s not about that. I understand that it’s a mutual joke and I do find it fun. I like that we can have conversations like that and it doesn’t turn into screaming matches with me yelling “falsehood”.”
“Yeah it’s good that we don’t fight anymore. You and Virgil really are nice friends and it seems laughable now that we’re closer.”
“Yes, well the reason I’m asking this is because you’re a close friend and also because I think that you’ll get a kick out of it and help your creativity.”
“Spill the beans Mr.Jelly.”
“Well when I say this let me finish and what I want to say is will you be my fake boyfriend?”
Roman stares at me for a moment.
“Th-“
Before i even say anything Roman is laughing maybe even cackling.
“ Roman Th-“
“Logan that was a good joke you really had me there your really get better with jokes.”
I might as well bite the bullet.“ I’m being serious but I understand why you think I wasn’t.”
“ You’re not joking.”
“No.”
“Seriously!”
“Roman!”
“ Hey! I’m sorry but this is a little unexpected why do you want to do this.”
“Lately people have been expressing romantic interest in me, and the thing is that I don’t feel the same way. So turning them down feels awkward and uncomfortable. I don’t want to hurt people's feelings or accidentally lead people on only for me to say no. So I think that fake dating could be an easy solution. I’ll be able to say no but in a way that doesn’t damage self esteem and you’ll be able to act in real life. We already hangout so it won’t be suspicious. I know that this is selfish and you don’t have to say yes. I wouldn’t use it against you; at the end of the day you are my friend. If this is too much I understand, and will like to continue being your friend even though I proposed this..interesting idea.”
Roman is now still not moving or anything he’s probably thinking of a way to say no.
“This is very interesting. I never thought this would ever happen to me so I don’t really know how to react…but I’ll say yes why not I mean I’m not really into anyone around here. This will be fun in the acting aspect and I get to help out a friend.”
“Really?”
“Yes.”
“You’re not joking.”
“No, plus you’re smart, you’ll know what we should do and you usually have a plan for stuff. Being over prepared is just your thing.”
“ Yes I do have the basics in that place for planning, but of course it can be remodeled and added whenever. If you do find someone you like or if we wanted to turn anything down.”
“ What are the basics?”
“Well since I asked you today, we’ll say that today’s the day I asked you out on a date. Then when we’re at school we’ll walk around holding hands, hugging maybe a kiss on the cheek but only if we’re both comfortable. After that I’ll take you out on Saturday to the park. And next Wednesday I’ll take you on a study date that’s what I’ve got so far date wise, but you can make some too for the most part it’s going to be like hangouts but with a little bit of affection.”
“ I think going to the park is fun, study dates are cool. I think it would also be cool if we had movie nights together too, maybe Sunday?”
“ That sounds good, what about affection? what are you okay with?”
“I’m good with hugging, hand holding, cheek kisses, kissing on the lips but I think that would be too much so let’s wait until the first date till we kiss and if we kiss we have to ask first.“
“ Yes, consent is important in general and especially now since we have this arrangement and I want us to both feel comfortable. I'm okay with what you just said in terms of the level of affection we’re going to give each other.”
“Are we going to tell your brother? I’m not going to tell Remus.”
“Do you think he would go along with it? I mean I know he can keep a secret, but still this is a interesting circumstance.”
“ I think he would find it funny and won’t really say anything.”
“ Then yeah we’ll tell him.”
I get up and open the door for Roman he passes by me and we start making our way to Virgil’s room.

“ You guys know that April is a month away, right?”
I rolled my eyes at him. ”Yes we know we’re seriously in a fake relationship.”
“Yep I’m officially fake dating your brother it kinda like that song but without the fake part.”
“Well as the best friend in this position this is really interesting. And I’ll act like how I would act if you’re actually dating examples “”ew that’s my brother”, “don’t make out in front of me gross”,and “ I’m going to go bleach my eyes.””
“I swear this house is filled with drama queens.” Roman says as he fixes his jacket.
“You literally want to be an actor and you’re fake dating my brother. What's more dramatic than that.”
“ Let's not have the drama off, we're all very “extra” individuals.” I say while fixing my glasses.

It’s Friday morning and I’m a little bit nervous for today I’m waiting for Roman in front of the school.
“ Hello starlight.” Roman says in a cheery voice.
“ Starlight?” I raise my eyebrows.
“ yes it’s like sunshine but in the night time it’s a nickname for you.”
“ oh well thank you I’ll call you Sunshine then, would you like to hold hands?” I stick my hand out a little to him.
“Yes i would like to!” he grabs it and makes our fingers intertwined. He’s really good at doing this stuff. He then starts walking and leads me to enter the school,
“We have English class first and we have math after lunch.”
“ Can you check my work? I did it but I think I got a couple of things wrong.” Holding hands with Roman is interesting, but he's a warm person.
“How are you able to function, you're so cold.” I start to pull away from his hand but he grips my hand tighter. ”I’m not complaining, I'm just going to have to warm you up, you want a hug?”
“Yes please.” I mean that’s what people in relationships do. He then lets go of my hand and wraps me in a tight and comfy hug. I try my best to match him, he really is warm. He breaks the hug and takes my hand again and we continue walking down the hall.
He leans into my ear and says “You’re blushing”. And after he says that I realize that I am in fact pink and now I’m aware of the fact that there are other people here looking at my face. I know that the whole point was to show I was taken but man, I feel flustered.
“ You scoundrel, how dare you take my poor baby brother!” I turn around to Remus speed walking to get to us.
“Remus, can you please leave me and Logan alone, we're boyfriends, get over it.”
“How can I get over that he’s taking my baby away from me!?!?!”
“ Roman’s only one year younger than you. I don't really think that it’s a big deal that we’re dating. I gave my word to him that I’ll treat him right and I’ll do it multiple times if I have to.”
“ I know I’m just joking, I trust you guys will be safe.” Remus then started making his eyebrows go up and down “ but in a serious sense don’t break his heart I know I joke around a lot but I mean it.”
“ I promise I won’t.”
“ Not you, I'm talking about Roman, don't break Logan’s heart, he's fragile.”
“Seriously Remus.”
“ hey I can only be serious once a day and I just used it this morning so thank you for that now I can confuse everyone by being seriously not serious.” Remus then skipped to his classes.
We continue to try to go to English Class. Hopefully there won’t be any big intrusions as we walk these last two doors. Roman opens the door for me. I go sit at my desk. He sits next to me and I start pulling out my homework and that’s when I realize that this is only the beginning.
