Heartbreaker Club 💔

Summary:

Scaramouche is the famed heartbreaker of the senior class, yet Kazuha like everyone else is enchanted by his charm and falls for him only to be met with heartbreak like every other one of his flings had been met with.

Unlike everyone else though, Kazuha isn’t going to let Scaramouche just toy around with his feeling like that, at least not without some kind of retribution.

Notes:

This is inspired and named after the song “HEARTBREAKER CLUB” by tiffi, City Girl, and Highvyn.

Chapter 1: Ignition

Chapter Text

“Well this had been fun” Scaramouche scoffed playfully, he was looking down at his phone seemingly texting someone else.

Kazuha was sitting right beside him with his head laying on his boyfriend’s shoulder; his legs dangling over the edge. Kazuha had chosen this spot for their date. Watatsumi Island truly was a magical place with the natural pastel clamshell shaped structures that protruded out of the sides. The view was simply whimsical and gorgeous. The natural phenomena of iridescent floating bubbles under the moon’s silvery rays only perfected the view. Meanwhile, the entire time Scaramouche’s face was illuminated not by the moon, but the sickly glow of his own phone.

Kazuha had tried to make conversation, but Scaramouche was more invested with whatever he was doing. Kazuha didn’t mind, right? That’s what he told himself, as long as Scaramouche was happy then it was all fine, right?

They had started dating only half a year ago, it was a sudden start. Every morning since Kazuha always sent him a genuine ‘I love you’ with a heart to which the other simply responded, ‘k.’ It was true love, wasn’t it? Kazuha had been secretly crushing on the other ever since he laid eyes on him. Who didn’t like Scaramouche? He was the famed heartbreaker of their class; everyone wanted to either be him or be with him. Kazuha had been the lucky one to get that chance.

He knew of the rumors swirling around the school, who didn’t? Scaramouche had gone through more flings than there were quizzes in every class. The indigo eyed boy stole people’s hearts in mere seconds with a simple proposal and instantly anyone was charmed, only for it to be broken off a few days later or even in one case a few hours later with a single unapologetic text.

A few of Kazuha’s friends had dated Scaramouche before. Heizou tried his luck, lasted a few days and then spent the next few months crying everytime he saw sight of the boy. Mona surprisingly lasted a solid week, a week filled with charms and facades. Even knowing the result after practicing astrology she still took the chance. Unsurprisingly she was dumped, not even with a text; she only knew when he started dating someone else. Scaramouche didn’t care for people’s feelings to tell them, it was somewhat part of his appeal, he simply didn’t care enough.

And if Kazuha’s friends hadn’t dated Scaramouche then they would’ve dated one of the others in the heartbreaker club.

There was Childe, the ginger. Lumine was left with her heart broken in pieces. The poor girl had been led on for over two weeks. To everyone else it actually seemed like she had to break the streak.of one of the supposed ‘heartbreakers.’ Though how far she had gotten didn’t compare to Zhongli’s three months. Everyone felt bad for Zhongli. It was said he never recovered from the breakup and he went online for the rest of his senior year out of embarrassment of getting played with like that.

Yet, here Kazuha was a whole half a year into a relationship with Scaramouche. That was twice what Zhongli had had. Out of all of those in the heartbreaker club, Scaramouche was famous for being the most unapologetic, but now out of all his other friends in their so-called club, he was the one with the record of the longest running relationship.

After Kazuha successfully passed Zhongli’s milestone, the whole school breathed a sigh of relief. Scaramouche wasn’t even considered a part of the heartbreaker club anymore since everyone thought he had finally settled with someone or at least cared enough not to simply entertain himself by playing with someone else’s feelings. On the contrary though, some still believed that one day Kazuha would be dumped suddenly, just another of Scaramouche’s flings.

Kazuha didn’t really take pride in breaking the so-called heartbreaker’s streak. All he cared about was that he was dating Scaramouche. Others envied him for the chance to be dating the heartbreaker this long, but he didn’t care for their jealousy.

“Huh, Scara?” Kazuha had picked up using the nickname after their first week and when he realized that he might actually have a shot with the heartbreaker.

“I said,” Scaramouche cleared his throat, but didn’t bother to look up from his phone, “That this has been fun Kazuha” Unlike Kazuha, Scaramouche never gave his supposedly beloved a nickname. He didn’t care enough to do so.

“Oh yes the view is such a wonder, isn’t it Scara? I’m glad you liked it!” Kazuha satisfactorily replied. He didn’t read the other’s tone right, after all who would’ve?

Over their last few dates, over the past month or so, Kazuha had noticed the other began to lose a bit of interest. Then again though, over the course of their relationship, Kazuha had been the one to reach out about when they wanted to go out with each other and was always the one to organize their dates. He didn’t mind doing it, just being in the presence of his lover was enough to make his heart swirl with warmth.

Scaramouche chuckled apathetically, “No you don’t get it. This has been fun.” He actually looked up from his phone now to face his now ex boyfriend just like all the others. “I’m not going to lie Kazuha, you’ve definitely been the best out of all of them. I don’t know what it was about you, but you’ve kept me rather, how should I phrase it… entertained, yeah that’s the word, for a while. And yknow for that I decided not to dump you over text, so you’re welcome. I’m being gracious.”

Scaramouche smirked and shrugged nonchalantly, giving out another chuckle when he saw the expression of complete shock, confusion, and dejection on his ex’s face. He had forgotten how good it felt to see that. Kazuha’s was the best he’d seen so far. Maybe Zhongli would finally get a classmate online? He got up quickly, patted the stunned Kazuha on the back twice, and walked away as normal.
