Work Text:

Bora's heart clenches a little when she knocks on Siyeon's front door after a bit over one week of not being here, when Siyeon and her have mutually decided it'd be better if they called off their relationship. They had been dating since Bora's sophomore year of high school, and now she is in her senior year of University.

She never thought it'd end this way. Bora has always been certain that her and Siyeon will be endgame. Life had other ideas in its pockets however, and things started to feel different. Bora has always been a highly affectionate person, always so ready and open to love. Siyeon lately, didn't seem to want that. So Bora got uncertain, so did Siyeon because of that. All of it spiraled down to them calling it quits before they would end up fighting and end it on a bad note.

The door opens after a few seconds, revealing a bare faced, sleepy Siyeon on the other side. Bora's lips break into a smile before she remembers, Siyeon isn't her sleepy baby anymore. Her smile falters a bit, but manages to say hi softly nevertheless.

Siyeon says it back, voice velvety and soft, as she invites Bora in. Bora spots a little box on the kitchen counter, and snickers quietly. Of course Siyeon already packed up her things for her. She walks up to it slowly, every step feeling like her shoes are padded with concrete. She spots her university hoodie, a plushie toy that she got for Siyeon for their 2nd anniversary, the things she had in Siyeon's bathroom, neatly packed up in a smaller bag.

What brings tears to her eyes is when she feels a small, warm, fluffy little feline wrap around her ankles, and a low purr hits her ears.

"Hi, angel." she squats down in a heartbeat next to Pepero, their cat. Her heart clenches, not really wanting to give him up as he was a present from Siyeon to her, so the chubby little Scottish fold is technically hers. She can't imagine ripping him out of his well known home, but at the same time she doesn't want to live without him.

Bora's fingers run through his fur as he lays on his back immediately, the presence of Bora calming him at an instant. Siyeon is watching them quietly from the doorstep, and has to stop the urge to take a picture of them that's climbing up her spine and leaves a bitter taste on her tongue. Bora is not her cuddly girlfriend anymore.

"He missed you a lot." Siyeon mentions with a small smile, kind of hoping Bora knows Pepero wasn't the only one feeling that way. It feels empty, quiet and hollow without Bora. It definitely will take time for her to get used to not having her around.

"I missed him too." the glossy look in her eyes says it all, Bora feels the same way Siyeon does. An awkward silence settles between the two, something not very welcomed in their relationship.

"He was going crazy." Siyeon decides it's best if she breaks the ice with continuing talking about Pepero. "He kept running around every single night this week."

"He must have been a little confused." Bora lets a subtle giggle bubble up from her chest. She bites on her tongue when she wants to add that she hasn't really been sleeping particularly well either.

"I hope he will calm down with you." the sincerity in Siyeon's voice makes Bora's chest feel like a wrecking ball has punched a hole through it. She misses the warmth, the comfort coming from the younger girl, no matter how hard she tries to deny it.

Bora gathers her energy after a few seconds, with her belongings as well and urges Pepero to get inside his little carriage. He meows in protests once its zipped up, but calms when he finds the catnip pillow tucked in the corner.

Both of the girls laugh, for the first time during the night, as Pepero's purring rings through Siyeon's tiny hall.

"So, see you on campus?" Siyeon questions unsurely, her voice barely there as she holds the door open for Bora.

"Bet your ass, Lee Siyeon-ssi." Bora manages a little playful smile, to let the younger know it's okay. It's okay if she wants to talk to Bora, it's okay if she says hi, it's okay if she wants to eat lunch with her. She just needs some time to work herself through the fact that Siyeon is just a friend from now on.

With a final bid of goodbye, Bora leaves looking like a fully decorated christmas tree, making a bittersweet smile stretch across Siyeon's lips. Of course she wouldn't ask for help, she never does. So Siyeon is left standing in her doorway until Bora is completely out of her sight.

She realizes how empty her apartment became now that Pepero isn't here to keep her company either. She slumps down on her couch, a rather defeated sigh leaving her lips as she does so, and starts watching a drama that Bora and her have started together. Guilt pools in the pit of her stomach as the seconds tick by, because she promised Bora she wouldn't watch this without her.

It takes her about 5 minutes to give up fighting against the feeling that's been sitting on her chest. With an annoyed groan, she turns the TV off and decides to head for a hot shower before going to bed. It's only going to get worse as the nighttime comes, she thinks anyways. So the earlier she sleeps, the better.

She knows she is going to stare at her ceiling all night anyways.

---

Bora glances at the clock next to her bed when she hears a familiar quiet thud. It's 2:13 am and Pepero just....won't. Stop. Running. Around.

It has been a challenge for both of them it seems, to spend the night without Siyeon's warm embrace. Bora can't blame Pepero, it's not like she would be getting any sleep if she was alone either. Defeated, tired and sad, she decides it's better if she gets out of bed to make some tea to try and calm her aching heart. For a second she considers calling or at least messaging Siyeon, but she shakes her head to get the thought out of her brain.

She is much more stubborn than that, to run back like a stray puppy to Siyeon, to beg her to give their relationship one more chance, even though it was a mutual decision to part ways.

"She was the one who didn't want my affection anymore." Bora mumbles to the teabag that's resting in her mug as she pours the boiling water over it. "I shouldn't feel bad about it, should I?"

Pepero appears on the kitchen counter, almost knocking Bora's mug over as he does so. She can't be mad at him, never, but this mug is from Siyeon, so he urges him a little further away from it. Just to be on the safe side.

That feeling sits in her stomach again, like a brick that will never dissolve. Anything that she connects to Siyeon, and God there are many things that remind her of the younger, will bring this feeling now.

For the first time in over a week, she lets a tear finally fall. The reason she tried to hold them back all this time is because she knew once they started, they would never stop flowing. One tear comes after another, just how she assumed they would and soon enough, broken sobs are leaving her small body as she slides down against the kitchen counter on the cold tiles of the kitchen floor, tea now long forgotten on the counter.

Bora curls into herself, hugging her knees tightly and just lets the feeling consume her being. The feeling of regret, pain, fear, everything that comes with knowing you have made an awful decision. She knows this will be the biggest challenge of her life so far, to get over Siyeon. Her teenage and early adult years have been filled with nothing but happy memories with Siyeon. To say that their relationship was perfect is not an over exaggeration. So Bora doesn't really know, can't really put a finger on why they have ended things.

She loves Siyeon, more than anything and anyone on earth if that matters anything at all. Bora isn't sure she will be able to exist without Siyeon. She has a lot of pride in herself, loves herself and knows that she should't be this affected by a break up. However she is, she is because it's Siyeon, her first love, her first girlfriend, her first everything. Bora just thought she'd also be her last.

Her limbs and lungs feel like jelly by the time her sobbing stops, body too tired to even cry after God knows how long. What Bora knows is that she has a class possibly soon, so she musters up enough energy to crawl to the couch to lay down a bit before her alarm goes off.

The clock on her phone reads 4:09am, "what a nice crying session you had Kim Bora" she thinks to herself as her eyes grow heavy, with now dried out salt resting on her eyelashes. She hates the fact that sleep comes to her this way, with exhaustion from sobbing for a good two hours almost.

What Bora doesn't know is that a few blocks away in the same city, Siyeon suffers from the same pain she does.

---

It takes a lot of effort for Bora to get up once her alarm goes off at 7 am. She now regrets on seeking some sleep on the couch as she walks into the bathroom, trying to stretch and move her stiff neck around, to get the pain out of the muscles at least. Her heart still feels heavy, so do her eyes and her whole body.

She almost lets out a scream when she looks into the mirror. She looks awful, and that is something very weird for her, someone who has always thought she looks attractive under any circumstance. Well, it seems like the "just broke up with Lee Siyeon." look doesn't really suit her. She snickers to herself quietly and begins her morning routine.

She splashes cold water on her face, trying so ignore the tightening feeling in her throat. She needs to get herself together at least for the mandatory lecture she has and she is glad it's a class without Siyeon. She does want to be friends with her, just like every other lesbian when it comes to their exes. However she is not sure she can handle even looking at Siyeon, at least today, without breaking down in front of her.

She doesn't bother with make up, knowing very well the amount of foundation she would need to cover up her red, swollen face would probably take up a whole bottle. She instead goes with sunglasses and already decides to sit in the back row and take a nap during the lecture.

She makes sure Pepero has food and water in his little ceramic bowls, ones that Siyeon and her crafted for him once during a workshop date they had a few months ago. Bora doesn't have the heart to put them away. Pepero loves them. (It's not a secret she is more attached to them than her cat.)

She hopes, prays to God that she won't meet anybody that she knows today, save for her same aged best friend Minji, who shares most classes with her.

The look on Minji's face makes her regret getting out of bed, or well, off her couch instantly. She already tends to have that worried look on her face, eyebrows furrowed if any minor inconvenience happens to her friends. Now, the pitiful gaze she's giving Bora is thousand times worse than her usual expression.

"Don't say anything." Bora's voice comes out hoarse and raspy, the first time she has spoken at all today.

"I was not going to." Minji is quick to defend herself, elegant hands rising in the air.

"Your face says more than a hundred words could." Bora pokes her tongue out, pulling the hood of her (Siyeon's old choir) hoodie over her messy hair before resting her head on the table.

"I just want you to know I'm here." the gentle hands Minji uses to pat her back carefully makes tears gather in her eyes once again. She is very thankful to have her as a friend, that is for sure.

The class begins with Bora's head resting on the table, gentle pats running down her back and for the first time in a while, she feels her body relax. She should have called Minji sooner, she realizes that now, as the muscles in her back release some tension finally.

She doesn't realize how fast the class is passing by, as her eyes grow heavy under the warm touches of her best friend. The next thing she know is that other students begin to filter out as she hears Minji's distant voice call out her name.

"Bora, class is over, let's get something to eat."

The last place she wants to go to is an even more public space, let alone the cafeteria but her stomach betrays her with a low grumble, making both girls giggle before, with much effort may she add, Minji drags Bora to the hallway.

The shorter's head hangs low, and mumbles a "Hi." to people who Minji greets on their way to a very promising ramen lunch. Bora plans to devour the Udon she started to crave a few minutes ago before she heads back to her little apartment to cuddle Pepero and cry some more preferably. She doesn't know if she would like that though, her eyes already feel like they are sucked into her skull (maybe she watched too much Stranger Things), but she definitely doesn't want to feel this shitty. She just isn't sure she can prevent her tears falling in the comfort of her home just yet.

"Bora-yah, do you want a drink too?" Minji's bubbly voice pulls her out of her trance, shaking her head lightly, and realizes they are now standing in line at the cafeteria.

"Just, just an apple juice." Bora mumbles, eyes never leaving the floor because even from a mile, in a room full of people with her eyes closed she could tell.

She heard Siyeon's giggle from one of the tables, she is sure.

It's anger first, then almost immediate relief after. At least Siyeon is feeling relatively better than her, at least that's what it sounds like. Seeing Siyeon sad or in pain, even if just for a split second would completely wreck her.

She remembers that one time the younger accidentally broke her little toe after kicking into the corner of the couch during Bora's freshmen year of university when she moved into her new apartment. In the ER the nurse kept calming Bora with a warm smile stretched across her lips, telling her that people break their little toes fairly often and that Siyeon will be fine. It didn't help her in the slightest though, and her racing calm only ached even more when her girlfriend was dismissed after some time, limping towards her, eyes shiny with tears.

That happened 3 years ago, and the memory still sends a cold steel knife through Bora's heart, so no, she is definitely relieved that she heard Siyeon giggle.

"Here you go, eggie." Minji hands her a tray, with the instant ramen steaming in its factory made foam bowl and a little apple juice with an elephant themed wrapping paper.

"Thank you, eggie." Bora feels a smile creep on her face upon seeing the little cartoon elephants on her drink, and decides to stare at them as they pass by a table she knows Siyeon and her classmates are sitting at.

"Hi guys."

It would be a lie to say that her heart doesn't drop to her stomach a mili second after she hears her voice.

Why, why, why out of any days do you have to say hi right now Lee Siyeon?

"Oh hey!" Minji greets the group with her signature beaming smile and energy as she comes to a halt, swooning over the few boys and girls as well sitting at the table.

Bora gives them a nod and a forced smile, still observing the very interesting baby elephant drawing on her bottle.

The conversation is casual, and Bora hopes it's the faster type because she can feel her eyes starting to burn from trying to hold back tears, because Siyeon won't stop staring at her. She sits wordlessly, even though she is the one who stopped them in their tracks in the first place.

But Bora is stubborn, and a bit cocky too. Avoiding Siyeon's eyes is bruising her ego, and in all honesty she can't, never ever resist the urge of looking in the way of Lee Siyeon. This time she almost wishes she didn't.

Siyeon's eyes are red, looking like she hasn't slept for what feels like eternity, little blood vessels almost covering all the white in them. They reflect pain, a lot more than what Bora saw in them when she broke her stupid pinky toe. The things she can see in them are regret, pain, restlessness, heartbreak. All the things she hoped she would never see in her Siyeon.

She shifts her weight, glad for the sunglasses resting on her nose, because the tears that well up in her eyes would be very hard to hide.

"Anyways, Bora and I have to discuss some project we need to get done for Management class, so we will get going." Minji finally says, and they bid goodbye to the small group. Bora swallows the lump in her throat and lets out a shaky breath once her back is turned to the table.

She just keeps poking her ramen with her chopsticks after they take a seat.

Now she isn't sure how this whole "getting over Lee Siyeon" thing will work out.

---

When she opens her apartment door, she already knows something is off. Her home is quiet, way too quiet. The buzzing of the fridge filters through from the kitchen, and the ventilation system hums lowly in the bathroom.

"Pepero." she calls out automatically, waiting for her little fluffy friend to come to her.

Except, he doesn't. She searches every nook and cranny, before something crosses her mind. She remembers opening the living room window in the morning to let some fresh air in, but she never got to closing it.

Panic instantly runs through her veins, as she runs to the window, and lets out a sigh of relief when she at least doesn't see Pepero's body on the road. She does live on the ground floor, but Pepero has never been out in the wild before, so the panic rises soon after again. Her little baby is out wandering the streets of Seoul, all alone and scared.

The first thing that comes to her mind isn't rational at all, and once again it bruises her ego, but at the moment she doesn't care. She fishes her phone out from her back pocket and walks back to her couch on shaky legs, while dialing the only person she can think of right now.

It doesn't take long, it never does, and after a few rings she hears:

"Hello?" Siyeon's velvety and calming voice fills her ears and those stupid tears are threatening to flow again just after hearing this simple word.

"Hi Siyeon, it's uhm me, Bora."

"I know, I have your number saved." the giggle is light, heartfelt, almost like she is glad to hear Bora's voice again.

Bora goes quiet, doesn't really know how to plate it to Siyeon that she practically lost their cat because she had been a mess all morning and day.

"So, why'd you call?" Siyeon is hesitant, obviously not wanting to rush Bora, rather curious to hear what the older has to say.

"I, uh." it's a struggle to get anything out with her throat feeling like it's in the grip of Thanos. "Pepero disappeared."

She decides it's best to just be straight up with Siyeon, as a tear rolls down on her cheek again. Frustrated hands come up to wipe at them, mad at the whole world for feeling the way she's feeling right now.

The other end of the line is silent for a while, and Bora is scared she will be yelled at, that Siyeon will be mad at her, that the line will go dead as Siyeon hangs up and will hate Bora for the remaining of her miserable life.

That doesn't happen though , no matter how many horrible scenarios play out in Bora's head in mere seconds.

"Are you home?" is what Siyeon says instead, in such a calming tone that Bora's muscles automatically relax.

She nods before realizing that the other can't see her so she lets out a weak "yeah".

"I'm at the campus, can I drop by?" Siyeon's voice is hesitant, almost as if she's afraid to hear whatever Bora has to say when it's obvious that her answer wouldn't be anything else than yes.

"Please, Singnie." she lets herself be weak and fragile for a moment, walls crumbling in front of Siyeon as a little sob escapes her lips with her answer.

"I'll be there soon." is all she says before Bora hears the little beeps signaling the end of the call. She buries her head in her hands after dropping her phone on the coffee table in front of herself, and tries to hold back the tears that are threatening to spill over any second.

The thought of losing both Pepero and Siyeon is so unbearable, so gut-wrenching and leaves such a sour taste on her tongue that she suddenly feels like throwing up.

Nothing comes out other than broken sobs as she is leaning over the toilet, but she can't seem to get up no matter how hard she tries. The only force she feels in her body is when she hears rushed knocks on her door and Siyeon's muffled voice saying "Bora, it's me."

It takes her a little time, to push herself up and paddle down the short corridor leading to the front door.

There is no hesitation in her movements, her muscles working before she can think and pulls the door open, revealing a very worried looking Siyeon on the other side. Her eyes are quick to scan Bora: puffy, red face and orbs drowning in tears easily noticeable even for someone with a blind eye. She looks small, smaller than she already is, her body almost curling into itself as she just stands there, hoodie almost swallowing her whole.

No words are needed, they both know as Siyeon steps inside the familiar apartment, kicks her shoes off while Bora closes the door behind her. As soon as she hears it click, she immediately pulls Bora into a much needed hug.

Their bodies mold together at an instant, as they try to catch up on the lack of physical contact of the past 13 days (Siyeon has counted, it has been that long). Bora's small hands sneak under her jumper jacket, embracing her fully and Siyeon cradles her head with one hand, carefully guiding her into the nape of her neck as the other holds Bora's small body like her life depended on it.

She hears, or rather feels Bora cry into her, so desperately, so broken that she is now sure that this whole break up has been a huge mistake. In fact she has been sure ever since Bora left all packed up and she spent the night restless, with Pepero meowing for the other girl in the door.

It hits her suddenly, why is she here in the first place, so after a few minutes of holding Bora, she gently pushes her away by her shoulders, just enough to be able to make eye contact with her. It's a natural instinct, it comes out of habit, the way her hands come up to cup the smaller girl's cheeks, thumbs swiping the tears with idle and soft movements. Siyeon's only goal right now is to calm Bora down enough so that they can figure out where Pepero is.

"Bora." her whisper is like a gentle summer breeze, dispelling the heavy fog that's been clouding Bora's mind lately. "Breathe."

That's all Siyeon says as she maintains eye contact, slowing down her own breathing too, a silent signal for Bora to follow her pattern. She does, their wordless communication still working like a well oiled machine. It eventually helps Bora come out of whatever state she was in with a final, deep, even breath.

"There we go." Siyeon's smile is contagious, it always have been, and Bora thinks it's easier to copy her facial expressions now that she is in her arms.

She feels safe, she smells like home and Bora takes another deep breath just for a good measure: the musky, dark tang fills up her senses, making her feel like she just stepped out of the most soothing shower of the world. It helps to relax the tense muscles in her back immediately.

Bora then gets out of Siyeon's embrace, knowing they have something rather important to discuss, more important than the crushing need to kiss Siyeon sitting on her chest. So she leads her to the living room couch, even though she knows the younger still finds her way through the apartment with her eyes closed. Their fingers stay interlaced on Bora's lap.

"So, Pepero." she begins, but her lower lip betrays her as it starts to wobble, so she takes it between her teeth. She is fucking tired of the tears.

"Good news," Siyeon has a small smile appearing on her lips. "He has a tracker in his collar. If he is close enough we can see him on the map."

"Wait what?" Bora's brows furrow in the most adorable way, meeting with a crease created between them.

"I got it a few days after..." Siyeon doesn't say it, it's not like she has to. They both exactly know what is the event they are talking about when they say before and after. "He just wouldn't stop meowing in the door. I was scared he would run away the second he gets the chance, so I got it as a caution."

She doesn't waste more time, fishing her phone from her pockets with her free hand. Bora smiles, butterflies awakening in her stomach suddenly, when she sees Siyeon's wallpaper is a picture of them still. She doesn't point it out, the flustered small laugh Siyeon lets out is enough for her to know she has all pretty shades of pink painting her cheeks right now.

Bora is amazed by the app, and her heart clenches when she sees how Pepero's tracker is saved as "Pepi.", a specific nickname she has for their cat. She sees his little icon pending in the corner of the screen, meaning the app is probably searching for him, then suddenly it turns green.

Siyeon erupts in the brightest laughter Bora has heard the past two weeks, and she smiles, confused but happy nevertheless, because she knows if her Sing laughs like that, surely everything is okay.

"Guess what." Siyeon's eyes glow with relief and happiness as she locks gazes with the older. "He is literally at my house."

"Let's go then!" Bora shares her giggle, happy tears gathering in the corner of her eyes as she pulls Siyeon to her feet at an instant, dragging her to the door. Shoes are thrown on in a hurry, laces hastily tied, easy source of danger but neither of them seems to care as they start running out of Bora's apartment. They take that half flight of stairs that separates them from the street with double steps and they are met with the afternoon sun as soon as the apartment door springs open at the bottom.

Bora feels carefree as her feet take her on the well known path to Siyeon's home, with the younger's hand clutched tight between her own. They run through the little park they usually have a picnic in and only stop, with heavy breaths and beaming smiles when a red light comes in their way. Siyeon takes the time to check her phone, making sure Pepero is still where they are running to like headless chickens.

"I think he fell asleep." Siyeon mentions, mindful to hold Bora back when she wants to run across the crosswalk. She can be so insanely energetic sometimes Siyeon thinks she was an energy drink in her previous life.

"He has been awake for literally two weeks at this point so I wound't be surprised." Bora's voice is back to that singsongy, playful tone that Siyeon fell in love with all those years ago. She squeezes the older's hand, making sure the fingers they interlocked won't separate anytime soon.

The rest of their walk is quiet, both too tired to keep on running and Siyeon occasional checking of Pepero's location keeps them both reassured that he is not going anywhere from Siyeon's doorstep. Bora takes in the warmth of the afternoon sun, a small smile coming on her lips knowing that Siyeon has always loved when Bora's face was basking in the glow of the sunset.

Just how she adored to stare at Siyeon during mornings when the younger was sound asleep in her arms, the morning sun's first streaks peeking through the curtains dancing on the soft skin of her cheeks. She misses those quiet mornings, with a sleepy Siyeon beside her. Her hold on the younger's hand tightens impossibly.

They soon reach the big metal gate that guards Siyeon's apartment complex. Bora presses the code out of muscle memory what brings a childlike giggle out of Siyeon, and they start walking along the little path until they reach the 4th porch that belongs to Siyeon's apartment. It takes them a few moments to spot Pepero. But when they do, a final relieved sigh leaves both their lips as Bora wraps her arms around Siyeon's waist, engulfing her in a warm hug. Her heart is beating out of her chest, and the older snuggles into her just a bit more.

Pepero is laying in one of the chairs under the kitchen window, the one which usually Bora uses. It's a comforting sight, cozy and homey, the way he is sleeping so soundly at a place where both Siyeon and Bora's scents are present.

Siyeon's heart won't seem to slow down even as the minutes pass by, lingering in each other's embrace as the sun slowly sinks below the horizon behind them.

"Bora," her voice rumbles in her chest and rings in the older's ear as she speaks after a while, still staring at Pepero. She's nervous, Bora can tell even from the mention of her name.

Bora hums as an answer, content and calm for the first time in a while, not wanting to disturb the peaceful aura that has settled around them.

Siyeon's breath trembles as she noses at Bora hair. She missed the scent of her peach shampoo and honey scented body wash, mixing together creating a sweet swirl around her. Bora has always been the only person who could use such sweet scents together and not smell nauseating. To Siyeon at least. She takes another deep breath, because she doesn't want to spend another minute or even a second away from Bora.

If she could drown in Bora, she would do it in a heartbeat. She needs her in her veins, in her blood. She is her soulmate, Siyeon is sure about that. So she makes sure Bora won't leave ever again.

"I don't want you to go." her voice comes out so fragile, so vulnerable and honest that tears gather in Bora's eyes a second after she hears her.

She lifts her head, slow and careful as if she's dizzy, a little drunk on the words Siyeon has said to her because she feels the same way. She doesn't want to go either. She wants to come home.

Their gazes lock, both of their eyes are shining with hope, understanding, longing and love. Bora's hands travel from Siyeon's waist to her neck, fingers coming to rest at the nape, nails lightly scratching the sensitive skin where her tattoo is hidden under the baby hairs.

Siyeon's hands find their way around Bora's waist easily, like they always belonged there, to keep the older in her arms. She knows it's inevitable, the pull she feels towards Bora, she is gravitating towards her no matter how long they have been apart. Her orbit tilts towards the older under any circumstance.

That's why it doesn't surprise her, but leaves her breathless nevertheless when Bora rises to her tiptoes and captures her lips between her own. The taste of her strawberry lipstick immediately fills Siyeon's senses as she melts into the kiss, hold tightening on Bora, fingers curling into the loose material of the huge hoodie she's wearing. She will never get tired of this, tired of the older's thumb tracing her jawline, the front of their bodies pressing together, the shiver that runs down her spine when Bora's fingertips ghost over the tattoo on her neck.

They separate after a few moments, breathless and as soon as she opens her eyes, there Bora is and she beams, shining brighter than the setting sun behind them.

"I should have never left." Bora's voice carefree now, and she rises to press a soft peck to Siyeon's cheek, knowing how much the younger loves when she does that. The pink color dusting the trace of her kiss is an evidence of that. "I'm sorry, I was so stupid."

"Not as much as me, though." Siyeon reasons, not even wanting to think about how insane she was for letting Bora go. She presses a kiss to her hairline immediately. "Do you..."

Siyeon's question trails off, not sure if she should ask wether Bora would stay the night or not. She knows very well just because they kissed that does not automatically mean they would get back together even though that is the only thing she wants in the universe in this moment, and Bora probably feels the exact same way.

Having the younger in her arms, her sweet scent filling up her senses, her warmth pressing against her even through the fabrics of their clothing, and she wants nothing more than to cuddle the older under heavy blankets with no clothes on, to kiss every inch of her soft skin.

But Bora understands, she always does. She reads her mind like an open book, so she answers the unfinished question.

"Yes I want to stay the night." she giggles shyly and balls her little fist to softly punch Siyeon's chest like a kitty, nosing into her neck as she does so.

Siyeon mirrors her expression as she lets Bora go, not without reaching for her hand and she manages to dance around the chairs and the table to take Pepero into her free arm. Bora smiles at them, not believing fully yet that she would finally, after two weeks of suffering, spend the night with both of them in her arms.

The lock to Siyeon's apartment clicks, and Bora kicks her shoes off, places them on the stand that somehow still has a free space for her shoes. Her heart warms even more if possible when she sees the pair of pink crocs decorated with elephant and strawberry jibbitzs tucked neatly in their space.

She looks at Siyeon who has now wandered off to the living room to neatly tuck Pepero in his little bed before plopping down on the couch, turning around to glance at Bora.

"You coming, baby? I've been dying to watch this drama but I felt guilty to do it alone."

The smile stretching across Bora's lips almost hurts when she hears that nickname and she practically leaps into Siyeon's open arms. The drama starts on the screen starts almost immediately but none of them seem to actually pay attention after Siyeon sets the remote control down.

Bora snuggles into her impossibly and feels sleep come to her almost immediately.

She's home. Finally home.
