“Kid,” he growls warningly, “I only got so much willpower.”
“Sorry.” Ruby stops and her sheepish, half-hearted apology breaks the kiss. Catching his breath, Eddie rests his forehead upon hers, seizing her flanks to prevent her from backing away, because that is absolutely not what he wants. All he needs is a break to try to regain a shard of lucidity.
“If you keep moving like that, I can’t guarantee—” He swallows, inhaling sharply. “Christ, Rue, I respect you too much. I—”
A quick kiss cuts him off. Ruby is panting and flushed, scrutinising him with those dazzling doe eyes that aren’t green, nor brown, nor grey, and yet somehow are all of these things. He's so captivated by her he finds it hard to muster enough words to express what his mind is screaming.
“Ruby, Ruby, Ruby, Ruby Soho… what have you done to me? One look of yours and the King’s on his knees for you… My beautiful Ruby...”
She breathes out a feeble giggle. “Do you always get this sappy when you’re aroused?”
