Beidou and her crew knew what they were getting into when they took Aether to Inazuma, Kazuha included. He never thought he’d return to his birth country like this, not after what they did to Tomo. Not after he became a wanted criminal.
He saw the armies from a distance, Aether amongst the Resistance’s ranks. How had he gotten there? It wasn’t surprising, though. Aether did seem like the type to protect the citizens over the ones in power. Especially when the ones in power were taking Visions.
It warmed Kazuha’s heart to see a renowned warrior and hero like Aether fighting on the side of the weak and helpless. To see him protecting those who needed it most.
Needing to catch his breath after sprinting towards the battlefield, Kazuha stopped to take a brief moment of rest by a tree. Threading a few blades of grass through his fingers, Kazuha watched as General Gorou and Kujou Sara faced each other, each readying their bow for what would likely be a showdown of the ages if their own men weren’t dying around them. Or maybe it would be. Artists of all kinds cared not for those who weren’t in the spotlight.
A flash of blue and delicate bubbles rising from the earth caught Kazuha’s attention. Her Excellency and the true leader of the Resistance, Sangonomiya Kokomi, had arrived. With words of courage and motivation, she roused a new fighting spirit in her men. They ran forward with renewed vigor, and Kazuha took that as his cue.
Kokomi’s words had lit a fire in his heart not dissimilar to those of her men, and Kazuha was ready for vengeance, however small it may be.
The Raiden Shogun wanted to make Inazuma a new hell? He’d bring his own.
They’d never see him coming, anyway.
