“You never talk much about yourself, Mari.”
Mariposa hummed as she turned towards Ignis. He was taking a long drink from his mug, looking at her from the corner of his eye.
“What do you mean?” She tilted her head at her friend. He set the mug down and turned towards her, giving a lazy smile.
“I mean about before we met. You told me you’ve lived in that cottage for a while, but not much more than that. Nothing like where you grew up, your family?” He raised a browbone at her and she felt herself still a bit at his question.
“Ah, well… I don’t have a family, so I suppose I didn’t feel the need to mention it.” She turned away from him, raising her own glass to her lips. Despite her efforts, Mariposa couldn’t help but think back. ‘You wouldn’t want to know where I was raised.’ She thought to herself.
