Chapter Text
Sirius looked at the clock again. Only 2:30?! The days kept feeling longer and longer for him. Sirius briefly remembered how similar it felt at Azkaban and shuddered. At least at Grimmauld Place, he didn’t have to worry that his soul could be sucked from his body at any given moment.
There was a knock at Sirius’ door, effectively drawing his thoughts away from Azkaban.
“Come in,” Sirius called, and Remus poked his head into the room.
“Hey, Sirius,” Remus said with a slight smile. “You doing alright?”
“I’m bored, Moony. Just like every day,” Sirius said, flopping down on his bed.
“You could go read something from the library,” Remus reminded.
Sirius rolled his eyes. “I should have guessed you’d say that, Moony,”
But a little while later, after Remus had gone out to go grocery shopping, Sirius realized he might have to take Remus’ suggestion. So down he went to the library, hoping his parents had kept a wider selection than just books on the dark arts.
The heavy oak doors creaked open, and Sirius was greeted by a large cloud of dust. Once the coughing fit subsided, flicked the lights on. Even more dust coated the entire room, and Sirius’ steps left footprints on the floor as he walked. He came up to the first shelf and brushed the dust off of the books with his sleeve. Nothing interesting. Just stuff about old and/or dark magic. As Sirius was turning away, he accidentally knocked into the shelf, causing one of the books to fall open on the floor. He bent down to pick it up when something caught his eye. A spell, he assumed, written out in shiny green ink.
“Reverus In Domum Suam,” Sirius read out curiously. He had no idea what the spell was because the entire page was written in Latin, but there couldn’t be any danger since he didn’t have a wand with him.
Just then, Remus came back from the store. “Sirius, come help me put away these groceries!”
“Coming!” Sirius replied, forgetting about the book.
