    “I meant what I said the other night,” Steve said, eyes flitting between both of Eddie’s for any sign of acknowledgement from the other man. “About how I realized I like guys.”

    Eddie nodded thoughtfully, answering with a hint of mirth in his tone. “Well, I didn’t think you were lying.”

    “I know that,” Steve said quickly, shaking his head slightly as if to clear his thoughts. This wasn’t going as smoothly as he had planned. “That’s not why I’m here right now.”

    “Then why are you here, Steve?” Eddie asked, voice weary but not unkind.
