Summary
Steve had quickly turned his head back to me, the closeness of his face to mine making my heart pound quickly in my chest. He smelt of his usual vanilla scented body wash and his dark, if not slightly wet, eyes had sought out mine before crashing his lips to mine.
I stumbled over an uneven pavement and felt myself snap back to reality. The summer sun had started to fade and the central street through Hawkins was bathed in golden light. I shook my head, smiling bittersweetly at my own ability to get lost in the past, or more specifically get lost thinking about Steve.
