Work Text:
So, Class 1-A and I decided we wanted to rent the school pool again. I wasn’t comfortable changing at school, so I decided to change in my dorm, threw some clothes over my swimsuit and made my way over.
I walked along the poolside. Once I got to the pool’s deep end, I sat down on the ledge and watched the rest of my classmates have fun, like the boys playing a volleyball game. Well, until a certain angry pomeranian started yelling.
“OI, SHITTY HAIR! GIVE ME THAT DAMN BALL!” Bakugo screeched.
“Come on, Bakugo, lighten up, will ya?” Kirishima responded.
Bakugo growled. “SHUT UP!”
I shook my head at his behaviour as my attention noticed the girls stretching on the other side of the pool. They were probably going to do some laps in the pool.
“CJ, come and join us,” Mina exclaimed, but I shook my head in response.
Step. Step. Plop.
A presence suddenly made itself known beside me. I looked up and was shocked to see the familiar face beside me.
“T-Todoroki!” I squeaked as the boy sat down beside me.
“I thought I told you to call me by my name, CJ,” he tilted his head. He almost looked like a confused puppy when he did that action.
No! Snap out of it, CJ!
“A-ah, yeah, you did.”
Damnit, don’t stutter in front of him!
“Why aren’t you joining them?” He asked.
I paused as I thought of a response. “I’d rather just be alone, if I’m honest.”
“Oh,” he paused, “Would you like me to go?”
“No!” He slightly flinched at the sudden shout. “No, you can stay. It’s fine, Todo-” I stopped as he gave me a slight glare. “Shoto.”
“Alright then,” he spoke. “I’ll stay with you.”
That’s when I noticed that Shoto seemed to be a lot closer than before. ***Had he been getting closer throughout that short conversation? Why is he so close?***
I felt a nudge on my thigh, and my face was burning. Shoto’s leg was right next to mine.
“CJ…” he muttered. I looked at him and realised he was staring at me. His mismatched eyes were soft and gentle. He lifted his right hand and placed it upon my cheek, caressing it.
“You know, your face is soft,” he whispered. It was so quiet I’m not sure if I was even supposed to hear that.
“Sh-Shoto,” I stuttered his name. A smirk pulled at his lips when he realised his effect on me.
“Nervous, are we, my love?” He chuckled.
I choked at that nickname. Love? What’s with this development?!
He leaned closer as he wrapped his left arm around my waist. In a reflex, I leaned back, but Shoto’s grip on me tightened, preventing me from moving.
“Careful, we don’t want you to hurt yourself,” his voice spoke.
I gulped at his soft yet amused tone. My face must be as red as Kirishima’s hair since I could feel it burning.
The smirk on his face slowly softened into a smile, his eyes warm as they stared into mine. I felt my breath hitch, and my heart stopped. He was so close to me.
Can this boy be any more perfect? Is it legal to be that cute?
“You know, they once told me that if I smiled, then the ladies would die,” Shoto remarked. A deep chuckle erupted from his throat, and he quickly glanced at my lips.
No way, was he thinking of-? He slowly began to lean closer. Holy shit! Is this happening? Is this a dream?
I watched his nearing figure before I tried to back away. This was embarrassing. He wasn’t going to kiss me in public, especially in front of our classmates, right?
What do I do?
My eyes looked back at the half-and-half boy, realising that he wouldn’t stop leaning forward. I knew what he wanted to do and couldn’t say I didn’t want to kiss him. The truth was that I’ve always wanted to do it.
This is it; this is how our relationship will change.
“Fuck it,” I whispered and leaned in, closing my eyes as our lips met in a kiss.
Soft. That was the first thing that came to mind when I felt his lips against mine. Tingles erupted from my lips and spread through my veins.
The hand caressing my face slowly reached around to cup the back of my head. His hand on my waist crept up my back until it rested on my shoulder, pulling me closer to his body. We were so close I swear we could probably hear each other’s heartbeats.
But alas, all good things must end when I felt the need for air. I tapped Shoto on the shoulder to signal that I needed to breathe, and he obliged.
“Hey CJ…” Shoto muttered as he slowly pulled away. We breathed heavily, trying to get that oxygen back into our lungs.
I looked at him. “Yes?” I asked as we stared at each other, the warmth from our kiss radiating throughout our bodies.
“I love you,” he spoke. I squealed and covered my burning face with my hands.
“GOD, GET A ROOM, ICYHOT!”
