It was a lazy Saturday afternoon when Tendou Maya approached Saijou Claudine, her excitement far too much for her to fully hide under her usual facade. At the sight of the brunette beaming Claudine could do nothing but sigh, knowing full well that she was up to something infuriating. Her lavender eyes glowing with joy as she attempted to casually sit down on the couch next to Claudine, acting as if she hadn’t been searching around the entire dorms looking for the blonde for the past hour or so as Nana mentioned in passing. They sat in silence for about 2 minutes until it was obvious the brunette couldn’t keep it to herself anymore.
“Claudine.”
“Yes, Maya?”
“Did I mention to you that Hanayagi-San and I had spoken earlier? She had briefly mentioned that I should start up a social media account…”
Claudine sighed, wondering where this was going. Tendou Maya on social media? Now that sounds like a somewhat terrifying idea.
“A social media account?” Claudine asked reluctantly.
“Yes. For food!” The top star beamed, now her excitement made more sense to Claudine. Tendou Maya making a food account online made much more sense then a serious account for selfies, not that Claudine doubted an account like that wouldn’t do well in followers, in a matter of fact she knew it would, she just fears how big Maya’s ego would get.
“F-Food?”
“Precisely.”
“So, you wanna make a food account? To post pictures of your food?”
“Yes.” The brunette said with a firm nod, all too proud of herself.
“Sounds like an excuse for you to eat more if I’m being honest but fair enough. Sounds just up your alley, Tendou Maya. After all, what could go wrong?”
What Claudine didn’t know was she’d find out sooner or later what could very much go wrong with Maya posting everything she was about to consume online.
2 Hours later, the pair had gathered in Claudine's room so she could help Maya set up her account. Yet again the brunette beamed every second of it, Reminding Claudine of a kid in a sweet shop. The pure innocent excitement radiating off of the girl was infectious as the blonde found herself smiling just as widely as Maya as she helped her.
"Ah, you need a username. You got one in mind?"
"Yes, I've had this one in mind since Hanayagi-San and I spoke earlier..." She paused for dramatic effect. "This is Tendou Maya's Food Blog!" She boomed with confidence, bringing an amused smile to the half French's lips.
'Of course, I should've known.' Claudine mused to herself, rolling her eyes with a giggle. Nevertheless she typed in the username and finished off making the account.
"Okay, this is the last part. What profile picture are you going for?"
Maya thought about this for a moment. Bringing her index finger to her chin, tilting her head slightly as she hummed in thought. Claudine committed the image to memory, she always loved how cute the brunette looked when she was deep in thought. Those piercing Lavender eyes of hers staring off to the side not really looking at anything in this world, her lips sat in a slight pout. Claudine couldn't get enough of it.
Finally Maya's face lit up once again and she brought her eyes back to the blonde, her smile returning once more to replace her thoughtful pout. She inhaled deeply through her nose to compose herself, trying not to appear as excited as she is but failing as her smile only widened.
"May I look for the picture myself? I already have it saved in my gallery." Maya asked, earning a nod from Claudine as she handed her the phone back.
The brunette quickly got to tapping away at her mission, bringing her phone close up to her face to the point where she may as well have been searching for the image with her nose. Her pout reappeared again which upon seeing it form caused the half French to smile warmly. Claudine relished the silence for it was not often she'd have peace and quiet in Maya's company as of recent developments between them.
After the revues the pair had gotten closer, after all how could they not? The discovery that they work best as a team was enough to shift their rivalry into something more friendly, never mind the French confessions. Before it had been unusual for Claudine and Maya to be separated, but now it was practically impossible as the pair seemed to be attached at the hip. If they were spotted on their own they'd almost always know where the other is, even if it was only one of them that knew the others whereabouts. They'd spend the days constantly practising and when they weren't doing that they were watching movies in one of their rooms, going over scripts, going for days out, or going out for dinner. Another thing they'd never do without each other now was watch stage plays, making a day of it.
Claudine smiled fondly at the thought of their development. A hum from Maya brought her back into the present, noticing she was still mulling over her phone.
"Can you still not find that picture?"
Claudine was met with another thoughtful hum from Maya as an answer. 'That's a yes then.'
"AHA!" Maya yelled triumphantly as her face lit up once more.
She excitedly turned the phone to show Claudine the image she had spent ages searching for. There, on Maya's phone, sat an image from 2 weeks ago of the pair at the local café eating desserts. Both were grinning widely at the camera, a dollop of cream decorating both of their noses where the other had booped their nose with cream from the desserts they were eating. Claudine snorts at the picture, 'Of course that's the picture she was looking for.'
"You want that as your profile picture?"
"Yes. It's one of my favourite pictures of us." Maya's smile turned warm as she faced the phone back to herself. "I've got it as my phone screen too."
"And here I thought I was original." Claudine sighed, shaking her head lightly. Maya looked up at her confused and was met with Claudine's phone, the blonde sporting a light blush and avoiding eye contact as she held it up. The phone screen turned on, showcasing the same image the brunette had on her phone screen. She giggled, causing Claudine to meet her eye once more as she put her phone back down.
"Oh my, it seems we had the same idea." Claudine hummed in the affirmative to Maya's statement. A moment of silence passed between them before they both giggled.
Now that Maya's account was all set up all she had to do was post which, thankfully, she could do in a moment as Nana was nearly finished preparing their dinner. Simultaneously, they both inhaled deeply, it smelled like potatoes would be a main part of their dinner tonight.
"Lets go help out, then you can post on your account". Claudine stated as she got up off of the bed. Maya nodded and followed suit.
A day later, a commotion stirred through the halls of the dormitory. A cat had made an appearance in the area and the girls couldn't get enough, happily giving the animal food and pets. Now, Maya would like to refer to herself as a girl with class, there was no way she was going to give such a guest food like the rest of the girls. No. She was going to one up them all, in typical Tendou Maya fashion, and buy the cat luxury cat food. After all, Maya will only settle for the best and she will not have her new feline friend have any less either. Other than the girls new friend, the days continued on as normal. Maya had started a routine of sitting and feeding the cat whilst she waited for Claudine so they could walk to school together, then she'd come back out and feed the cat again after their shower before dinner. She had debated making a media account for the cat as well but decided she should wait a while to see if the owner would come to pick the cat up before she could instead.
Though not long later the cat had been picked up, to Maya's dismay. What was she to do with all the cat food she'd stored up? She knew she was buying too much for a guest that wasn't even guaranteed to be there by the time she returned from the shop, a year's supply of cat food was quite ambitious thinking. For now she had decided to just store it in her room until she's able to ask one of their friends for advice. As much as she was getting used to her routine with the cat, she was perfectly fine getting back into her regular routine with Claudine. And that is what she did.

Claudine chuckled lightly as she stopped her late night scrolling to read Maya's tweet. Underneath the tweet was an attachment of the aforementioned dessert sat on Maya's desk, no doubt eaten by now even if it was only tweeted 2 minutes ago. She clicked the thread to see Maya had engaged with a few other accounts.
YourOverlord: damn tendou-han isn't this the fifth baumkuchen you've eaten within the past half hour

Claudine giggled as she scrolled to look at the next replies.

Claudine giggled a bit more before taking to the comments herself.

The Blonde grumbled as she set her phone down, having enough of the Brunettes antics for one night. It'd been just over 2 weeks since Claudine helped Maya set up her account and it had already gained well over 3 million followers which led to the brunette to start using it as an excuse to scavenge extra midnight snacks, though no one would know if it wasn't for her twitter account posting everything the Top Star consumed. It had become a part of Claudine's nightly routine to go through Maya's twitter before bed, partly out of curiosity, and partly to make sure she wasn't receiving any hate or creepy messages.
Claudine turned onto her side as she pulled the covers up over herself recounting the recent tweets of the Top Star. Most of her tweets were of her beloved Baumkuchen, a decent amount were of potato based food, and quite a good chunk was of Nana's treats. 'For someone whose diet mostly consists of those 3 foods she never gains any weight.' The thought irks the blonde causing her to grumble a bit as she nuzzles into her pillows. Just another thing that annoyed the Ash Blonde about “The Perfect Top Star, Tendou Maya.” Granted she's aware Maya's always been a bit self conscious of gaining weight and she does know why Maya never gains any weight, and it's due to the merciless training the two of them do on a daily basis. Both of the girls were well built, strong and fit, though if the pair were to ever have an arm wrestle Claudine would win, which she takes great pride in. The half French does normally make a point to prove to Maya that she has no need to worry about gaining weight by doing some extra working out just to soothe the Brunettes' concerns.
She was on the verge of falling asleep when she received a notification on her phone, reluctantly she picked up her phone to see what it was. A text from Maya.
Maya: Ma Claudine, are you asleep?
She sat up and started messaging the thoroughbred back.
Claudine: I was about to be, Oui. What is it that's so important you had to interrupt my beauty sleep?
As much as Claudine's message suggested she was annoyed, it had no venom. And she knew Maya knew that too. If she had actually been annoyed at the girl's message she would've just put the phone back down and went back to bed.
Maya: Can I sleep in your room? Hanayagi-San sent me a horror movie clip and said it was about people saving a duck and now I can't sleep.
It wasn't uncommon for the pair to sleepover, after all both of them were scaredy cats with no roommates and more often than not a certain blue haired devil would take advantage of their fright - like tonight for instance. Claudine huffed amused, already making room in her bed before replying.
Claudine: * Bien sûr, just don't take the covers on me again.
Maya: No promises. Merci, Ma Claudine. I'm coming now.
Claudine always liked it when Maya would sleep over, she enjoyed the extra warmth... And the cuddles she gets from her. Even though she'd only recently put her phone down due to the Top Stars late night shenanigans, she found herself smiling widely as she allowed entry for the girl. Tapping the space beside her for Maya to crawl into which the girl decided wasn't enough and curled into Claudine instead, though no complaints were heard. Maya found her waist encircled by a pair of arms that only pulled her closer to the former child star. The pair sighed, bid eachother goodnight and fell asleep within minutes.
Sadly, Claudine had no clue about her incoming migraine which she would soon discover the next day.
The pair woke up the next morning and went on as they normally do after they've slept over, waking up and talking for a bit before the other would split off into their own room to get ready for the day and then they'd continue their usual daily routine together. Another day of classes went by pretty easily, just some simple maths along with some dance practice which was followed by their late night practice too. Returning to the dorms for a shower, food, and some free time before curfew.
Within this free time, the duo split up. Claudine returned to her own room to do some homework and Maya had decided to suggest different sweet treats for Nana to try and make next and also confront Kaoruko about something before returning to her room to do some homework too.
Claudine had spent a good hour working on her English homework before deciding to call it for the night.
She flopped down on her bed with her water bottle and tablet in hand, intending to watch a stage play and then possibly do some browsing on twitter before the teacher came for curfew. She chose to watch a performance of Hamlet, studying the atmosphere the actors create along with their expressions and delivery of their lines. Claudine's commonly told by her parents that she doesn't have to study everything she watches but she can't help seeking to improve and learn even when relaxing, especially if she was to take the title of Top Star from Maya.
After she'd finished watching Hamlet, she heard a commotion outside in the hall. It appeared the blonde had miscalculated how long she'd have before curfew, she could browse twitter after curfew before bed again. So she slid out of bed, checked she was presentable in the mirror, and left to stand outside her door. As usual, she was met with Maya's soft smile before the teacher eventually began roll call. The girls were then sent to their rooms after curfew was concluded, Maya and Claudine once again bid eachother goodnight then vanished behind their own doors.
The half French was now sitting on her bed, under her covers, browsing through twitter. Scrolling past Nana's posts about her recent bakes, Karen's twitter of just what ever the fuck was going on there, Hikari's once a day casual death threat, Mahiru's baseball retweets, Junna's quote retweets of lecture after lecture, Futaba's Motorbike pictures, Kaoruko's complaints, then her own tweets of stage play reviews - be them in French or Japanese, then eventually, Maya's food pictures.
Upon finding Maya's account again, Claudine began her nightly routine. She clicked on the account and started looking through her recent tweets. Yet again it was relatively normal, well as normal as things can get with Tendou Maya.
A picture of the potatoes they had earlier had seemed to gather a lot of replies so Claudine thought it best to make sure there weren't any ill-intended ones.

Ah. Finally Claudine had found someone to rip into and take her anger out on. She wasn't going to let Maya fall for such a thing nor deal with any hate. Especially from a kid who's constantly boasting about his 'Abs' which are badly photoshopped photos.

Moments later the tweets were deleted, all before Maya saw them which Claudine counted as a big win. Though she hadn't expected Kaoruko to see the interaction, she doubts the Kyoto Princess will remember it to bring it up at any point in the future. Claudine counted this as a big win which painted her in a confident and prideful feeling, she felt like some kind of secret hero for getting the kid to remove his messages before it could cause Maya to get self conscious again.
After another 15 minutes of browsing through Maya's twitter she found no more hate comments, and was about to call in for the night but was stopped by the notification of a newly posted tweet by the gremlin herself, Tendou Maya. Claudine clicked it.
Upon the tweet loading, she was face to face with a photo. A photo that seemed very out of place for an account about things the Brunette was literally about to eat, her entire diet being posted via pictures on the account. And she means Everything she's about to eat. Everything. So why? Why was Claudine suddenly staring at a caption that read;
This_Is_Tendou_Maya's_Food_Blog: It's a little on the fishy side, but not too bad.
Followed by a picture of luxury cat food. Luxury fucking cat food! On Maya's food account!
"Holy shit, is she really eating fucking cat food!?" Claudine couldn't help but utter to herself in shock.
Within moments she found herself sprinting out of the bed, skidding out the door, and bursting into the Brunette's room.
There, at her desk, sat Maya. Staring at the girl infront of her in confusion and shock at the sudden unannounced intrusion and after curfew at that.
"Tendou Maya! What the fuck have you got in your hands!?" Claudine growled as she approached closer, only for Maya to turn her body further away from Claudine as she squeaked out a reply.
"N-Nothing?"
"Bullshit! *Montre moi!"
Claudine continued her approach until her foot hit something. Now she turned her attention to the floor. Which was covered in tons of cat food tins. She slowly looks up and makes eye contact with Maya, who gulps then finally turns her body to Claudine. In the thoroughbred's hands sat an open tin of half eaten luxury cat food and a fork. In that moment, Maya can say for sure she has never seen Claudine's face twist with so many emotions all at once, until it settled for a look of both disgust and shock. The Blonde took a deep breath and closed her eyes before slowly opening them again to meet Maya's once more.
"Is- Is that fucking cat food you're eating...?" The half French hesitantly asked through gritted teeth, the edge of her mouth twitching with exasperation.
"...No...?" Came the reply as the Top Stars face reddened in embarrassment. 'Least she had the decency to be embarrassed about it'. Claudine's thoughts grumbled as she tried to create coherent words again.
"Maya, what the fuck-? Why??? Why are you eating cat food? Why do you have cat food? Why do you have so much???" Arms flailed to gesture to the mountain of tins spread around the room.
"W-Well, I had bought some for the cat but since their owner’s took them back I've been left with the rest of the food I bought for them and I was hungry and didn't have anymore snacks and was curious about the taste..." She tapered off after her fast ramble, causing Claudine's face to only twist more in disgust and disbelief
"What the fuck kind of midnight snack is fucking cat food!?! Most people would fucking send the remaining food to a cat shelter and go to the kitchen fridge for a snack, Maya!"
A beat of silence passed between them, Maya's cheeks only heated up more as she quietly placed the tin back down on her desk and cleared her throat. "How did you know...?" Came the quiet squeak of a question.
"How did I know? Maya, you fucking posted on your food blog!" Claudine snarled, taking a few steps closer to Maya so that they were nearly face to face if it wasn't for the other sitting down. Maya gave out a nervous laugh, acknowledging the fact that she did, indeed, do so. "Right, I think you've had enough fun with this food blog-"
"How do you know this isn't part of my diet to being the Top Star?" Maya cut in, smirking. All signs of previous embarrassment had vanished and she was back to being smug.
Claudine froze, her mind pausing as she registered what Maya had just said to her. Her mouth opened and closed attempting to formulate a response to such a question but finding none. The Brunette, noticing she'd left Claudine speechless, only got smugger, clearly proud of herself. At this, Claudine huffed and turned on her heels. "Nope, no way! Fuck that, I'm out! I'm done! *Putain, ça ne va pas avec cette école!? Putain de nourriture pour chat! Je retourne en putain de France!" She yelled as she stomped out the room and slammed the door.
Maya sighed dreamily as she stared at the now closed door. She's glad that she managed to get Claudine's attention again, though only half of the event had been staged. A few minutes before the event, Kaoruko had messaged Maya with a screenshot of the blonde going after someone in her defence, which had warmed her heart. The blue haired devil had then proceeded to go off topic and ask Maya about the cat food she knew she had stored in her room (She'd asked her what to do with it earlier before bed) and thus the plot was formed. The original plan was to post the picture in hopes of it catching Claudine's attention just before bed, just as Kaoruko had told her, what wasn't planned was her actually getting curious and hungry and eating the cat food then having Claudine barging in after she forgot about the whole plan.
Maya regrets nothing. In a matter of fact, she thinks she might have another tin.
