Chapter Text
Phoenix blinked awake, staring around himself with blurry eyes. The doors. The guards. The nondescript art dangling over his couch.
"Court will resume in two minutes," the bailiff announced.
Phoenix sat up and noted the papers scattered around himself. The flash of his badge caught his eye. "Oh no," he groaned.
"Daddy! What are you doing?" A blue-caped girl sprinted into the room in a panic. "It's time to go!"

"What year is it?" he asked the girl. "And, uh, what's your name?"
The girl clapped a hand over her mouth. "Oh no," she gasped. "You don't remember me? I'm Trucy, I've lived with you for nine years..." She reached into her bag. "I have to call someone."
Phoenix didn't know what was going on, but he was glad Trucy
