Work Text:
The group went back into the elevator to go back into the now-sleeping city, a sense of worry blanketed over all of them. Percy felt a bit stupid, like he should've seen this coming. After all, Grover had told him this would happen.
Annabeth was tense as well, one hand fidgeting with the beads on her necklace as she did whenever she was nervous. A bead of sweat trailed down the side of her face and her jaw was very tight. Percy exhaled shakily, reaching over to hold her hand. She glanced at him and shakily accepted it, knowing he probably needed the support just as much as she did.
This was bad. This was very bad.
And it was only the beginning.
