"Aunt Iris?" Wally asked. He held up his bow-tie.
"Charlotte-"
"I'll get some water," Aunt Charlotte said. "This way, Inez."
She closed the door behind them, leaving Wally alone with Aunt Iris.
She took the bow-tie and knelt down to tie the knot for Wally.
"I know you can do that yourself," Aunt Iris said. "What's wrong, Wally?"
He shrugged.
"You like Barry, don't you?"
"Yes," Wally said. "You like him."
"I like Barry very much," Iris said. "He's very sweet, and very kind."
Wally looked down at his hands.
"You know, Barry's been very excited you'll be his nephew too."
"He has?" Wally asked.
"You can keep calling him Barry if you want, but you'll make him cry if you call him Uncle Barry."
Iris hugged him.
"You'll always be my best friend," she said. "You can still come and stay whenever you want, I promise. I love you, Wally."
"I love you too, Aunt Iris," he said, hugging her tight.
"And you don't need to worry about secrets either," she whispered.
Wally jumped back.
"Don't tell Barry I know," she winked. "I worked it out ages ago. I'm very proud of you, Kid."
Wally smiled, his cheeks warm.
"Can you do a very important job for me, Wally?" she asked.
Wally nodded.
"Can you go make sure Barry's not late?"
"I'll find him, Aunt Iris."
