Eddie was close.
So close Steve could count his eyelashes if he wanted. He could see the texture of Eddie's face just like he had long before when they shared a heart-to-heart in the woods. But he was too scared to get this close last time.
Now, not so much. He instinctively got closer every time Eddie pushed the boundary of personal space.
