Hello!
This is the commentary track, as well as “HUB” for bonus content, for the fic Orange County.
This is intended to be supplemental commentary and content for a re-read of the fic, so there will be links made explicit between details from earlier and later chapters, comments on the general arcs and tone of the work, and tangents – in short, spoiler-rich talks. Please proceed at your own discretion.
The commentary track is being written on a re-read by me, the author of the fic, and my friend Yumi, who was there when it was first brought up in concept, who I talked to a lot while writing it, and who has been superbly supportive of my bout of madness so far. It’ll contain:
- my own notes on writing the fic: cultural influences on certain details, the thought process behind certain plot threads, headcanons and such that don’t make it into the fic explicitly but are there in the undercurrents of the work; and
- transcription of Yumi and I’s chatlog, as we read through the fic again.
This will be presented in the style of footnotes: relevant bits of writing in the fic will be marked with a number that refers back to our commentary here. The commentary track will be posted chapter-by-chapter.
Additional content – character sketches, doodles, etc. - are compiled in the final chapter of this post. All art posted here is made by me, unless stated otherwise.
