Luke was lying on a bed in the infirmary back from his first quest from the Gods. He has been coming in and out of concussions for the past few weeks because of how bad the pain is. It took a while for him to heal enough to stay awake long enough to process what has happened to him since he could only have so much nectar and ambrosia.

“Luke, I need to talk to you in the big house,” Chiron said to Luke during sword practice. Luke nods to Chiron and puts his gear and things away following Chiron. They go into one of the rooms. “Luke, your father has come and spoken to me, and he wants to send you on a quest,” Chiron says looking grim, though Luke didn’t notice then though in hindsight he should have realized this would not be good. But Luke was too happy to be kinda acknowledged by his father and to be sent on a quest no less. The thing many demigods want to do but never get the chance to.
“What does he need me to do?”
“He wants you to get one of the apples from the tree of Hesperide, you must go to the oracle of Delphi and get a prophecy for this quest. Good luck.”

Luke can’t believe how naïve his past self was. His father just gave him something to get him off his back. Heracles already has done it. It was just a copy to say that they did something for one of their kids a generation or so. They don’t care, they just wanted something to point at and say “Well I gave your brother a quest already so what do you want?” When his other kids ask for something from him.
He remembers what happened to Thaila and what they did to Halcyon. He remembers he promised that if they did something like that to him he would do something.
And he will not break his promise.
“I won’t break my promise, I swear it on the River Styx.” The thunder that rolled in the background is a moment he will never forget. This would be an oath that he will do his best to keep on his last breath.

When Chiron hears the thunder roll in the distance, he can tell that the prophecy is going to be in motion soon enough. But he doesn't know who started it or why he feels this way. ‘But I feel that way, if only the big three kept their oath, though you can’t run away from a prophecy. They should know that by now.’ Chiron thinks to himself as he goes to check on Luke.
