Chapter 3: The Comrades

Summary:

The first of the leftist groups, falling, mostly, along Auth left lines
the violent overthrow of the current system in the name of Communism and probably way too many excuses for the Holodomor but right now way too busy trying to recover from the red scare fucking all their theoretical terms. After they had barely recovered from fascists appropriating all their theoretical terms.
"that's... that's not the means of production, that's the fruit of the labour"
"private property and personal property aren't the same things!"
at least worker Unions are getting back on their feet

Chapter Text

The Comrades are the largest group on the left and made up of ideologies derived from Marxist literature and are in favour of toppling the current system through force to replace it with a new one.
Marxism is the father of most of the Comrades and as such head of the group, owning the building and lands around it where they live. Marxism himself is a subdued ideology, being only theoretical he’s only really interested in providing education and small community work, running a large public library out of the Comrades’ building. He’s also considered relatively… normal for an ideology, as in he has a social and personal life outside politics.
Due to his father’s more relaxed nature, leadership roles tend to default to Marxist-Leninism in political situations. (The closest character I have to Commie) With most of his siblings having power in their own nations, he's the main representative in America. While he’s built physically strong and tall, he attempts to present himself as more palatable to official political settings now that the ending of the cold war and red scares has made that a more feasible option for leftists, including suppressing his Russian accent, to… varying degrees of success.
Most of the other members are derived from various Communist movements.
Ancom is technically included in the comrades but is not around often. Being one of the few members not in the direct family and not being well-liked by or liking most of them, having particular tension with Marxist-Leninism due to history. They and Marxism have known each other for their entire life and have a relationship that can be best described as Every Single Kind Of Relationship At The Same Time, they are dating, they are divorced, they are star-crossed lovers, they are best friends, they are nemesis, they hate each other, they had a love they will never have with anyone else, they’re exs and salty about it. All that matters is that Ancom can annoy ML by calling him ‘stepson.’
