“I’ve been having weird dreams lately”
“Oh? Really, care to tell what happened”
Kazuha fell into Silence..
—
Kazuha was on his way back to his flower shop when he heard some noises inside, not before a boy came out, holding out a neat bouquet of pink carnations on his way out. Time slows down as they lock eyes, the shards of the glass door reflecting both of the colours of their eyes
Kazuha woke up forgetting the colour of those eyes, but hoping that he could meet them once again
—
“Kazuha?”
“No.”
His friend begged to disagree
“You’re obviously being bothered by it.” his friend noted
Well, Kazuha didn’t really put anything to cover up those dark bags under his eyes
His friend pressed his head on the counter, while Kazuha walks around the Flower shop, he finds himself glancing at the solid colour of pink carnations in a white vase sitting next to the entrance as a display
“It started a few months ago, it was a normal dream at first” Kazuha sighed
“At first?” his friend questioned
“At first.” Kazuha repeated his statement
—
Kazuha seems to be running out of his breath, chasing the same thief who is now holding a fair amount of white camellia. The night is ending, as the dawn breaks out to the sky. Kazuha could feel the cold breeze, It’s very cold, but did he mind? No, not really
it was pretty, so pretty that he could probably wrote a hundred haikus about this, so pretty that he might’ve closed his shop and just choose to become a traveller, so pretty that all of that tiring chase that they’ve been doing for days now is totally worth it in Kazuha’s perspective
It’s so pretty, his smile hitting the morning sun is so pretty
“That was a good chase don’t you think?” he stopped once he was blocked by a dead end, a tall cliff that points directly to the morning dawn. Kazuha won this chase
“You must be tired, here” he walked towards a panting Kazuha. His eyes might be in the ground but he could tell the other is close, and even proving his speculation right once he gently touched his chin, lifting his head up.
The florist is not used to this kind of close proximity to the other, let alone a physical touch. “You can go back now” he placed one of the white camellias that he once held, in his ear, the flower is still surprisingly in good shape. He lifted a bit or his hair, accidentally brushing a bit of his fingers to Kazuha’s face, strands of silver engulfing the stem of Camellia as it balance through his right ear, Kazuha saw his green eyes flicker with warmth over the view
Kazuha woke up lightly pressing his right ear, catching a ghost of a white camellia on it
—
“so…he just keeps stealing flowers from you?”
“In the first few weeks, yeah..pretty much” Kazuha came back to his usual spot at The counter, sitting on a brand new stool that his friend made, he never forget to say his thank yous to him “but the next few dreams were just us talking to each other I guess..”
“Did you even remember anything about him?”
Kazuha moves his hand to his cheeks, thinking as he tries to remember the little details
“..Well he mostly wear loose outfits”
—
“They look nice when the wind blows, and since it’s pretty windy in here, my intuition says that an opportunity like this is hard to come by, don’t you think so?”
Kazuha woke up buying a hoodie that is twice as his own, he finds it really comfortable that he almost wore it everyday
—
“He..seem to like pork cutlets”
—
“I mostly cook pork cutlets since they’re my favourite”
Kazuha woke up craving and eating pork cutlets for the past 2 days, stopping the routine once Aether invited him to fish on a nearby pond that he find
—
“He seems to also like our chases, since he said he’s mostly the one who chases others, rather than the one being chased.” his friend gave him a confused look
“He said take it at whatever it resonates” Kazuha shrugged
—
“Are you up for another chase?” the stranger said, looking at a few flowers on the store, probably choosing already what he will steal
“You seem too fond about this” Kauza spoke, adding a soft laugh in the end, Kazuha could feel his gaze at him as soon as he spoke
“I am.” he muttered, but not soft enough for Kazuha to not notice, he cleared his throat right after, embarrassed about what he just said earlier “believe me, in my place, I’m usually the hunter there”
Kazuha gave him a confusing look
“Take it as it resonates”
After their chase, Kazuha woke up thinking about what the stranger just said
—
“And you still didn’t know his name? Or if he’s really real at all?” his friend seems to be too calm for this, Kazuha gave him a curious look before going back to his work
“I have some dream where we call each other by our names, but I always seem to forget about it once I woke up” the florist looks up at his schedule, the shop is about to close in a hour “I’m pretty sure he does as well” he spoke once more
“How about the second question”
Kazuha was silent once more, he took the nearby pink camellia and put it near his nose, covering his mouth from his friend’s point of view
“..In all honesty, sometimes I think he’s not..”
“But?”
“But he feels real..”
—
“So, What do you think?”
“I…could say I like it..” unlike the usual spring or summer, it is now currently fall-like in his dream, maple leaves starting to fall at the nearby pond, Crunches of dead leaves can be heard from both of them walking through an endless pathway of wilting trees
“Now what’s that supposed to mean?” the unnamed visitor questions Kazuha with a bit more deep to its voice, still, no malice can be detected within the question asked, Kazuha always sensed that
Speaking of Kazuha’s senses
“Do you smell that?” the other looked at Kazuha
“What? Is it gonna rain?” the stranger asked, Kazuha only laughed at the question, which only confuses the other more
“no…It’s quite peculiar actually, it’s more so a flower than an upcoming weather” Kazuha explained, earning an ‘oh’ to the other
The stranger glanced at the path they’re currently walking to, then back to Kazuha’s red eyes, contrasting the green ones that he has
Kazuha notices this, of course he would
“For you to actually sense that smell from afar, it must be a field of those”
“That sounded more like a deduction, than a prediction” Kazuha chuckled once more
“We should get going” the florist grabs the other’s hand, seeing the tiny specks of red at his pail form, hiding behind maroon strands, the red dusting his cheeks as his green eyes widen for a bit. Kazuha just smiled, resisting the urge to laugh as his chest begins to ache
The sun slowly turned its sky to orange, matching the different maple leaves that he could see while walking. Hand in hand together. The leaves that once cast shadows in the past two seasons are slowly decaying due to the cold climate, but both boys are now used to it.
The only unusual thing that both boys are feeling right now is the warmth of each other’s hands, back and forth squeezes became a competition between who squeezes the most, quickly getting comfortable to it. It didn't took a while for them to reach the field, both are over the moon once they saw a field of daffodil right ahead of them
Both of them never let go of one another
Kazuha woke up confused, but already longing a stranger’s warm hand
—
Longing him unlocks the feeling of emptiness, like words being put into nothingness
“Huh”
Kazuha laughed half heartedly, already worn out due to so much talking “really? That’s all you can say? ‘Huh’” last part was clearly mocking the other
“What could I actually say about this? You absolutely rendered me speechless Kazuha.”
Kazuha looked at the clock, already closing time, he started cleaning up the nearby mess that he could spot, putting the flowers away in their safe storage unit where they were kept during closing hours
“I dare to even say that you’re actually in love with that guy”
Kazuha froze, already holding the last batch of daisies in his hand
in..love?
