Chapter Text
The clashing of steel rang through the courtyard. Diluc and Kaeya were once more practising their sword work. Both boys were determined to find any opening, but as per any other practice session that had taken place. It had ended in a draw.
"I really need to work on my footwork, you almost won" Kaeya sheathed his sword.
"No, your footwork is really good. It's my swing that needs work" Diluc sighed gently rubbing his wrist.
The two exit the courtyard next to the Knights of Favonius headquarters. Rounding the corner they're met face to face with a fellow Knight.
"Jean," they say in unison pulling a laugh from the blonde Knight.
"In sync as always. Diluc. Kaeya. Are you two sparring? Who won?"
"Draw" Diluc answers.
"Isn't it always, You're both too worried to hurt each other" a chuckle sounded from the group. "Attached at the hip as always."
The three of them continued chatting about their Knights' training until it was time for all of them to go their separate ways.

"Diluc?" Kaeya looks over at the red-haired boy.
"Yeah, what's up"
"You would never hurt me right?"
"Why do you ask?" Concern laced through Diluc's voice.
"I don't know, I'm just curious I guess" Shrugging Kaeya looks away.
"Oh, okay. Well, to answer your question I would never hurt you Kaeya. You're like a brother to me" Diluc grabs the other's hands, "You know what!" Excitement sparked in his eyes "From this day forth we will be sworn brothers!"
"Sworn brothers?"
Yeah! We will always be there for each other no matter what. Always protect each other"
"Always?"
"Always"
