Atlanteans are way taller than expected. This poses some issues.
Percy had been standing in front of the closed door that lead to the dining hall, desperately trying to open it, for at least five minutes now.
It was early and he was tired and hungry and getting really frustrated. Someone coughed discreetly behind him. Bright red, Percy turned to look at whoever just bore witness to his little fit.
Triton. Great.
To Percy’s mortification, he opened the door without even a little bit of trouble.

“Jinx, I’m going to ask one more time, whose goddamn white baby is that?” Ekko pointed at Isha. “Did you steal her from someone? You can’t just go around taking kids!”
Jinx rolled her eyes, crossing her arms as Isha hopped off her lap. “Is that any way to talk about your daughter? Look at her, she looks just like us! Besides, she’s just light skinned.” Isha ran up to Ekko and hugged his leg, giving him her best puppy dog eyes, just like Jinx had taught her.

Jinx takes Isha to meet Ekko for the first time, but Jinx wasn't going to do it without having a bit of fun

Apparently, that was not the right thing to say. Hood's fists clench and he mutters several curse words under his breath until Tim blinks and holds up his hand in utter confusion.
"Wait," Tim says, trying to make sense of the situation, "are you here because you tracked me down," he ignores the way Hood stiffens, "because you protect kids?"
This time it's Hood who looks confused. Or... his body language does. "What?" He pauses. "Oh, yeah. That's right."
"And you're not confused about why I'm in titans tower?"
"...Nope," Hood says after a lengthy silence.
Or;
But the motion is practiced.
(Fly to close to the sun, you get burnt.)
Something is thrown.
(You fall, your wings shatter into iridescent tear drops, but you survive.)
Something shatters.
(You’d like to say you flew that close because you knew you’d survive, but really it was because then you would have the broken wings to prove that you were hurt.)
