It was during the fifth period of school, the last period for today because Ms Lisa didn't show up on this day due to personal matters.
Normally they would've had literature in the sixth period but yeah... At least he could go home early, Childe thought even though he enjoyed Ms Lisa's lessons. But now he was here, in the boys' bathroom, locked in a stall and crying, hugging his legs and hiding his wet face between his knees.
He just wanted to pee in peace, but Archons didn't have mercy on him today. Only a few seconds after he was done peeing, the orange haired teen received a text message from his girlfriend. Well, it wasn't only a little text message like ‚Hi' or something, no. It was a whole ass damn paragraph in which she explained that after a long time she figured out that she was a lesbian.
Childe read the text out loud:
Hey, Babe... I probably shouldn't call you that because of the following things. But I know you love it when I call you that so I'm doing it one last time. I wanted to tell you that I am breaking up with you. It's not because of you because you're a great person and so loveable. You're the nicest and best boyfriend I've ever had! And maybe the last one too... Yep and that is the reason for my message. I am lesbian. Or just interested in girls aswell, but more in girls than in boys. I didn't figure it out 100% though.
You probably know my friend Ayaka. I have feelings for her and she does for me aswell. We're not a couple yet because I didn't want to have two relationships at the same time, that would be cheating wouldn't it? And you definitely don't deserve that. I really hope we can be friends again someday because I don't want to lose you. In love, Lumine <3"
Tears started to dwell in his ocean blue eyes which he wiped away quickly. „Real men don't cry", he whispered silently but then remembered how his best friend Kaeya once told him that there's nothing wrong with crying and letting your feelings and emotions out, even as a guy. So he let the tears stream over his face. What should he do now? He loved her so much. Childe didn't think he would ever get over this. He locked himself in one of the stalls in the boys' bathroom, sat on the closed toilet, hugged his legs and cried. Nothing more than that. He just cried in the silence of the room.
Suddenly the door was opened and a familiar voice called his name. „Childe, are you still here?" It was Kaeya. The ginger held back his tears and shines and whatever when he heard Kaeya coming closer to the stall he was locked in. „I know you're here. Are you okay? You've been gone off a long time now..." Childe heard his best friend letting out a sigh. „Open the door please. Or do you want me to climb over this stupid door? Oh damn. It would be so embarassing if there was another guy inside and I only think it's you because you went to the toilet. And I would interrupt their shit session by my questions and presence. Childe, if this isn't you then I am sorry, damn."
Now Childe definitely had to say something. He just couldn't let Kaeya fear embarrassing himself lille that. „Don't worry Kaeya, it's m-me.." „Phew... I was so scared for a moment. Could you open the door now? Because you don't sound like you're alright or something." Childe gave in and opened the door only for Kaeya go let out a shocked gasp. „What.. What happened to you?! Why are you crying?!" The blue haired male knelt in front of his homie and held one of his hands.
It took the ginger a few seconds to find his voice again and to calm himself down a little. „Lumine... She..." He paused to let out another sniff and Kaeya asked: „What did she do..?" „S-She broke up with me" Childe said after a few seconds of trying to stop his crying which didn't really work. „What?! Why did she do that...", Kaeya asked in disbelief. „She is lesbian. Or more interested in girls atleast..." He let out a small and sad laugh to which Kaeya responded by taking both of Childe's hands in his own, caressing them softly. „Did she already find someone new?" The other guy nodded and explained: „She and her good friend Ayaka have feelings for each other but aren't a couple yet because Lumine didn't want to be in two relationships at the same time. That would have been cheating and I didn't deserve that, she said." „She's right with that, you really don't deserve that. And now, get up please"
Childe looked at Kaeya questioningly but didn't hesitate to do what the blue haired asked for. Once he got up he received a hug by his best friend who pressed him tight but softly against his own body. Of course he hugged him back and cried on his shoulder. „I hope you get over her soon because you're ugly when you cry. I want to see you smiling again." „Thank you so much, Kaeya" Childe said, his voice slightly breaking. Then Kaeya let go of the other and wiped his tears away. „Come on, let's go back, or Miss Ei will get mad at us."
Childe simply nodded and the both of them slowly made their way back to the classroom. „It sounds weird probably, but could you hold my hand? Only for the way back to the classroom!" „Its not weird, if it helps you feel better then it's the least I can do." With that Kaeya took his hand and intertwined their fingers. „I ... just noticed that you talk about Rosaria anymore. Is everything alright between you two?" „Oh. Hahaha... Actually, we broke up two days ago." „What the...? Why didn't you tell me?!" Childe asked, upset. „I don't know. I thought it wasn't that important and-" „Sorry for interrupting, but... I know you have self-esteem issues but please don't forget that you are and always will be my favorite person, Kaeya. You can always talk to me!" „Noted." Kaeya said smiling, tightening the grip on Childe's hand. In that moment, Childe already forgot about the breakup and his sadness earlier. But now he really wanted to know why Kaeya and his now Ex-girlfriend broke up so he asked him. Kaeya answered after letting out a sigh that sounded frustrated: „It was actually the same reason as your breakup."
„Are you serious..? What the fuck. So she's more into girls aswell and has feelings for someone else?" The bluenette nodded and went on with his explanation. „But it's alright, because I caught feelings for someone else too so the breakup didn't hurt that much. And we're still friends. Ah, before you ask. I'm not going to tell you who I have feelings for~" „WHAT? Why not?" Childe whined and pouted. „It's... well... complicated I guess. I'll never tell anyone. Not even you. I'm sorry, Childe." „It's alright, although I really want to know, I'm not pressuring you to tell me" „Thank you for understanding." After that little talk about relationship stuff, they arrived at their classroom and went inside again. Childe felt really happy now, after Kaeya gave him the comfort he needed so much in that moment. And he really meant it. Kaeya truly was his favorite person, he loved him
so much. Kaeya, on the other side, also loves his best friend a lot. Maybe he loves him even too much. Who knows...
