ROXY: mom
Her ectomother laid motionless before her.
ROXY: mom!
Saved from vaporization, but for what?
ROXY: please
To have a body to bury?
ROXY: mom
She knew that as long as a HEROIC judgement had not been made, there was still a chance.
ROXY: wake up
But she'd barely started learning to use her powers, and no amount of little green cubes can fix death.
ROXY: ...
ROXY: its me
ROXY: ur um
ROXY: daughter kinda
ROXY: ...
The Rogue of Void continued to plead the Seer of Light.
ROXY: please dont die
Blood continued to stain the Light emblem on Rose's robes.
Roxy remembered what her dear friend Calliope had taught her about aspects before she, too, had died. As her opposite, she knew that the Light aspect would always be a bit of a mystery to her.
ROXY: ...
But the Void aspect she'd been gifted with was supposed to be even harder to understand, right? She owed it to her ectomother to at least try to understand the Light. There was something about the "Most Fortuitous Path"... But after the bloodshed she'd awakened to, in which her ectomother was only one of many bodies, it was hard to believe that there could be such a thing. If it ever existed, it had surely ended. What now?
ROXY: ...
What happens after a path ends? There's nothing. Nowhere left to go.
There's only Void.
ROXY: ...
Roxy closes her eyes,
and
reaches
in.
She thinks of the alternate version of her mom in front of her, whose heroics Dirk had told her so much about. She thinks about their meeting, soon to be cut so short. She thinks about the future they could have had as family. She thinks about Rose.
And she pulls.
Rose coughs.
ROXY: rose
ROSE: W,
ROSE: What...
ROSE: Happened to me?
ROXY: the witch got u
ROXY: with her fork
ROXY: but youre gonna be ok
ROSE: Oh.
ROSE: That's nice.
ROSE: *Cough.*
ROXY: maybe you uh
ROXY: shouldnt try to talk now
ROSE: You saved me, didn't you?
