Chapter Text
Tim-
Tim didnt believe it.
A stalker with a katana?
Bad news. But something about the small kid with the katana following him around WI didnt creep him out.
Something about him was so familiar, but no matter how much he racked his brains he couldnt figure out who he was.
One time when he was alone, he muttered a small,
“Who are you?” Not expecting a reply.
The small figure just froze, clearly not intending to get caught.
”What, did you think you were sneaky? You barely slipped pass my line of vision.”
Realizing the figure didnt want to cause him harm, Tim just sighed and continued typing on his computer.
Sure it was completely out of character for him to just ignore a possible threat, but the way the assasin’s presence almost felt…protective, Tim decided it wouldnt cause anyone any harm to ignore him.
Until he heard of a small boy with a katana following Dick around.
-
Damian-
Damian did not consider himself Drakes brother, nor did he consider himself stupid.
But when he was sent back to when he first arrived to Gotham, he realised; no one needed him.
Robin was Drake’s title; Damian was simply an inconvenience; how foolish of him to consider that his birthright was to be a Robin.
After all, Grayson and Todd were, as much as he didn’t want to admit it, skilled professionals of vigilantism, and they were not related by blood.
Such he had ended up, alone in his League of Assasins clothing; without the symbol,of course; following around various family members.
He knew he would not be able to fool them; his subtlety, however great in the league would prove useless to the vigilantes.
Sometimes he wished that he hadnt made this choice.
He missed everyone quite dearly, especially Grayson and Pennyworth.
Even Drakes incessant complaints and Todd’s plebeian behaviour had become such a constant in his life that without them, he felt as if a chunk of his soul had been ripped out.
But it was for the better good.
Grayson would not have lost his memory, Drake would not have become so hostile, and more people would be better off without him in their lives.
Especially Grayson.
Oh how he missed the gentle yet sincere words of the man he had considered basically his father, not that he would ever admit it.
However, he knew he had brought Grayson unimaginable amounts of stress and exhaustion, and later on grief.
It was for the better good, he convinced himself.
But his heart told him otherwise.
When had Damian ever listened to his heart, though?
For now, he had to clean the streets of Gotham, the Damian Al Ghul way.
-
Dick-
The first time he saw the katana, Dick immediately went on guard.
Who had broken into the manor?
How? He didnt get it.
But before he could react, the figure was gone.
An assasin, he thought, though it was rare one got through the defenses.
Oh well,he would beat them up someday. After all, they hadn’t touched a thing.
The second time, he didnt feel uneasy, more at home.
Which was weird, because his family was more complete than ever, with Timbo coming over everyday to solve cases with him, Cass on a three year long break in Gotham, Jason coming over every few weeks to gloat and watch movies with Dick.
Even Barbara came over often, with stories of the Birds of Prey and Steph munching on her disgusting ketchup and chips.
But somewhere in the blur of family, Dick felt as it something was missing.
Not like a sock, but a huge plot hole.
Whenever he went out with someone on patrol, it just felt wrong.
Detatched.
Bantering was fun. But not the same.
Same as what?
He caught himself cracking a corny joke and looking to his right.
Nothing was there.
Always feeling like hes being watched, by that sad small little boy with that big katana.
He registered him as a threat, but not a huge one; he hadnt attacked yet, and was a kid, so Dick had no choice but to wait for him to mave the first move.
He didnt have to wait for long.
