Ruis phone started going off, it was one in the morning. Since he was planning on staying up all night anyways he decided to answer it, it was Saki, Tsukasas sister.
“Hello?~” Rui answered in his usual mischievous tone.
“Is Tsukasa with you?” Saki said seemingly urgently.
“Tsukasa-kun? No he’s not with me, the last time I saw him was at practice…”
“Fuck! Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck!” Rui heard Saki sniffle and start to cry. “I haven’t seen him since he left to go practice! This isn’t like him!” Saki was now fully sobbing.
“What? Tsukasa said he was walking home after practice, I offered to walk with him but he declined…” Rui was now increasingly worried about the disappearance of his boyfriend. “Saki, please don’t worry, get your rest. I’ll go find him.”
“Please…. I just want to know if he’s okay…” Saki said through sobs.
“I’ll let you know as soon as I find him, Saki. I promise.”
“Thank you..” Saki then hung up.
Rui was pacing around his garage, worried and wondering where Tsukasa could be. Rui threw on a coat and began walking to the area near Tsukasas house, thinking that he may be nearby.
“Tsukasa-kun!” Rui called out, hoping that maybe the blonde would hear him and come running, although that never happened. After a few more minutes Rui heard something. It was crying.
Rui went over to the sound to find his boyfriend in a park sitting on a bench, curled up and crying into his knees. Rui, forgetting his promise to Saki ran up to Tsukasa.
“Tsukasa-kun!” Rui said with some sort of relief, he tired to hug his boyfriend but Tsukasa shuffled away from him. Rui took a seat on the bench next to Tsukasa.
“Just leave me alone, Rui…” the blonde said as he turned his head away from Rui in an uncharacteristically quiet tone.
“Tsukasa-kun, you have to go home. Your sister is worried about you.” Rui avoided saying ‘worried sick’ as to not place unnecessary stress on his boyfriend about his sisters actual medical condition. The blonde, seemingly ignoring Ruis words ask a question Rui never expected to hear.
“Rui… why do you like me?”
“What?” Rui questioned, increasingly confused. “Why do I like you, my star? Well it’s because you’re the light of my life!~ an endless source of optimism and joy!~” Rui answered truthfully.
“You don’t have to lie to me, Rui.” Rui was stunned to hear his star say something like that. Before he could get a word in, Tsukasa continued. “I’m loud, annoying, and selfish. You don’t have to pretend I’m not to make me feel better…” Rui could hear that Tsukasa was about to cry again.
Without saying a word, Rui went to embrace his boyfriend.
“It’s nothing like that, my star. You are the absolute best person I know and I adore you more than anything else in the world. You are my everything, Tsukasa.” Rui said gently.
Tsukasa burst into tears and reciprocated the hug. “I’m so sorry, Rui! I just…” Tsukasa takes a sharp inhale. “I’ve just been having these awful thoughts an- and-“
“Hush now. It’s okay, my star. Let it all out.” Rui ran his hand through his boyfriends hair, something Tsukasa always enjoyed.
Tsukasa gripped into his boyfriend and cried into his shirt. “I’m sorry for making you and Saki worry about me…”
“Don’t worry about that, my star. Everyone has off days and needs time alone. Just please tell me, or Saki, or just anyone before disappearing.” Rui said while still stroking his boyfriends hair.
“Now please, clean yourself up a little. Sakis worried out of her mind.”
“Okay… Thank you, Rui….” Tsukasa said as he wiped off his face.
