Of all the things Hawk had said and done over the years, this had to be the most ridiculous.
Fighting Alex was a death wish, but Morgan knew this was gonna come up eventually. But going hero?
”Okay Hawk, you’re going to fight Alex to the death, and then when you win you’re gonna join Ducky’s hero team? All right, well how about—”
Hawk chirped down the phone, and Morgan breathed in.
”Oh, you’re not asking you’re telling?” They hoped that their child knew, by the tone of their voice, that they were in big trouble.
”Okay, okay. Um, well I’m telling you that you’re fucking grounded.”
Hawk let out a squawk, and Morgan’s patience wore out.
They hung up the phone and summoned their child.
”Yes. You are.”
Hawk let out another squawk, trying to argue back, but Morgan wasn’t willing to hear it.
”Now go to your room.”
Hawk didn’t reply past looking at them guiltily, waiting for the length of the punishment.
”For a billion years, Hawk, what the hell?”
