Leo has been working nonstop on the Argo II. He had to get this done, this isn’t some dumb little side project only he cares about. This is the thing they need to get to New Rome and Leo was the person they were hanging up on waiting to get done so they could get on with it and save the gods and this Percy Jackson person. Though you know, no pressure.
Leo does not want to let anyone down, so he works day and night. He was getting barely any sleep running off of caffeine and granola bars since to him it all feels like some enormous waste of time to worry about his health or well-being when he needs to get this done to save the mother fucking universe.
He was working on the hull hammering away on something that was long forgotten in his thoughts just working on autopilot. His hands working on their own accord doing what are hopefully the right things he needs. His brain feels like it is shut down every single blink he takes feels like it will be his last for a very long time so who fucking knows if he is doing the right thing?
Leo suddenly hears footsteps coming toward him, he jumps a bit when he hears them. He didn’t even know someone opened the door and tried to notice what was going on around him other than finishing the hull.
“Leo, you look like a zombie,” Jason says coming over to him. Jason was his fake best friend and then became his real best friend and now they both know they like each other more than that and neither knows what to do with that information. Well, they know they have acted on knowing multiple times more they have started nothing since you know the world is kinda ending. Just a little. So it has been a little different between them both in this weird limbo.
“Well, you just got a way with words like Shakespeare Jason this is why I fell for you.” Leo jokes back somehow being able to put words together into something that made sense.
“Leo, when was the last time that you slept and ate a proper meal? You need to take care of yourself. You're gonna end up getting yourself killed and we need you alive and not with my uncle.”
“I will be fine-”
“Leo, each time you blink your eyes it seems like they will not come back up and when they start it looks painful. Believe me, I know I have seen it on hundreds of people in battle. Just wanting to lie down on the ground and sleep like you never have before. But you can take a break so please for the love of all the gods go to bed Leo and then after that actually eat a meal 'cause I know damn well if you ain’t sleeping you sure as hell ain’t eating.” Jason pleads to Leo, his face full of concern at the state of his best friend with little extra things.
“I will later give me like 15 minutes to finish this off.”
“Okay,” Jason says, sitting down at a chair that was near.
“What are you doing?”
“I am going to wait here for you to finish that thing in 15 minutes,” Jason says looking like he would sit there and nag him for hours if need be. Leo groans. “Why are you groaning? I think you should be glad that I am not forcing you into bed right now. Or were you just planning on telling me to go back and do something else? Well, luck is against you today ‘cause I have nothing else to do today.”
“Damn you.”
“You love me. Now go to bed.” Leo was so tired that he didn’t want to argue so he just went along with it. He let Jason force him to the showers he went to grab some clothes from cabin 9 so Leo could shower and also so he wouldn’t get sidetracked on any other projects going on. Jason left the clothes out for Leo and went back to waiting outside. Once Leo was finished he put on the clothes and walked out even more tired than before and he didn’t even know that was possible.
“Well, I am going to bed, see you later Jason,” Leo says as he walks towards cabin 9. “No, you are not going back there you will just end up doing something else, you will sleep in my cabin.” Leo just blinks at him. “What?”
“Just come on Leo.” Jason drags him to his cabin once they are in he closes the door behind him. Leo walks over to Jason’s bed and collapses, Jason himself needs a nap so he goes over to the other bed for when Thaila comes over.
“No, Jason if you are going to sleep or hell lay in bed then get your ass over here,” Leo mumbles turning so he isn’t talking to the pillow. “What?”
“Jason I know you heard me get over here.”
Jason walks over to the bed and gets under the covers and once he is there Leo throws himself over Jason cuddling into his chest. Leo falls asleep also instantly, Jason not that far behind.
