"You see Mobius, this variant could have been..."
Their mission had been a success and they were walking together to join the rest of the team.
Mobius had to admit that he had lost track of what Loki was saying. Not because of lack of interest but because he was distracted.
Distracted by the same person he should have been listening to.
They were walking peacefully side by side, their shoulders brushing against each other at every step because neither of them was able to keep a professional distance.
From the beginning
His step matched Loki's. Despite their difference in size, one adapted to the other, or vice versa.
The distance between them had quickly disappeared and the involuntary brushes of the beginning had now become comfortable brushes.
As if one was looking for the proximity of the other.
Their bodies were speaking a language understood only by themselves.
For once Mobius was the one who wanted to go beyond the professional limits.
There was only a small inch separating their two hands and he would only have to move his hand a little to be able to grab Loki's in his and intertwine their fingers.
Mobius wondered if Loki had noticed when something gently brushed his hand.
He looked down and saw Loki had turned his hand and was gently brushing the back of his hand with his fingers while still talking.
Mobius simply turned his hand so that their fingers intertwined and he looked up into Loki's face and Loki smiled gently at him.
Then Loki's smile turned into a small mocking smile as he said to him, "Now that I have your full attention again, maybe you'll listen to what I say."
Mobius laughed softly and leaned back slightly against Loki and tilting his head a little towards him, he whispered, "You always have my full attention, that's the problem."
He, too, smirked when he saw Loki's upper cheeks turn pink, the god stumbling over his words before resuming his speech scolding Mobius with his eyes.
Sometimes it was good to be the one to blow a little wind of chaos.
That's why, as they crossed the time door that would take them back to the TVA, Mobius didn't hesitate to pull Loki towards him for a kiss.
And when they went through the door a little later, if some people at the TVA noticed their messy hairstyles, their wrinkled shirts and their crooked ties, nobody said anything.
Because after all, what happened outside the TVA stayed outside the TVA.
