Three times, three times Mobius tried to tie his tie again and couldn't do it.
His tie had gotten stuck in his desk drawer when he closed it and now he had to fix the knot. Usually, he could do it perfectly but only in front of a mirror. He didn't have a mirror in his office and there was no way he was leaving without tying it perfectly.
He bent down, and tried once again, while contorting himself to reproduce the gestures he made in front of the mirror.
"Oh my, don't you look adorable. Looks like I'm becoming indispensable when it comes to your tie knot Agent Mobius."
He looked up to see Loki arrive in his office.
He was screwed.
"I mean, it is adorable that you think you could possibly manipulate me."
At that time, they were not really partners and even less friends and Mobius had already almost succumbed when Loki had adjusted his tie in front of the elevator.
He'd had him at "adorable" and now he was doing it again when Mobius was already having trouble resisting since they were partners and friends.
He was really screwed by the way Loki was moving towards him.
But did he have a choice?
Loki put his hands on his shoulders and made him turn around and whispered in his ear.
"I'll teach you the way I learned it, through a little story."
Loki placed his hands on Mobius' who was holding the tie and continued, "The rabbit bounded away with the fox snapping at his cottontail."
Loki slid their hands together so that the wider end of the tie was lower than the other end.
Mobius protested, "D-does it have to be?"
Loki hummed, "Hm, you have to learn all the steps. Focus, will you?"
Loki guided his hands to wrap the wider part around the narrow one and then recited, "Twice around the tree, they ran."
Somehow, Mobius felt like the rabbit being chased by the fox.
Loki continued, "The rabbit slipped under a bush, away from the fox." and pushed the thinnest part under the neck loop, brushing Mobius' neck in the process. Mobius couldn't hold back the shiver that ran down his spine as Loki chuckled softly, "Those rabbits who think they can escape the fox..."
Loki guided their hands to grab the thinner part again and pull it through the neck loop. This time Mobius was fully aware of Loki's forearm brushing against his cheek before he whispered, "The Little Rabbit has run away..."
Then he let go of Mobius' hands, stood in front of him, took his hands back and, pushing the thin part through the loop of the knot he added while looking Mobius in the eye, "and the rabbit dived straight into the safety of his cold, dark hole."
Mobius swallowed, but could not look away from Loki's gaze.
Loki finished tightening Mobius' knot and said softly, "Really adorable." and Mobius had no way to hide the blush on his cheeks.
Loki let go and added, "I think I deserve a kiss for this."
Mobius had never been one to resist a challenge, and when it came to something he'd wanted for weeks, he didn't hesitate.
He grabbed the flaps of Loki's jacket and pulled him closer, desperate to wipe that cocky grin off his face.
Their lips connected as Loki wrapped his arms around Mobius' neck in a tight embrace. Despite the heat of the moment the kiss was softer than he expected. Loki's lips moved against his as if he hesitated, as if the fox still wanted to give the rabbit a chance to run away. But Mobius wanted none of that, he didn't want to run anymore.
He didn't know who moaned when his tongue ran along Loki's lower lip but it didn't matter. The following seconds their tongues intertwined in a feverish and wild dance, both giving in to the passion that was inside them for so long. When they had to part to catch their breath, Mobius nibbled on Loki's lip before gently releasing it.
Forehead to forehead, they caught their breath while panting.
Then Mobius stepped back a little more and, putting his hands on Loki's tie, he tightened it a little and then adjusted it perfectly before stepping back again, a little smile on his face.
Loki leaned in to kiss him again and Mobius shook his head.
"And I think I deserve a date for this."
Then picking up his jacket in passing, he turned and walked out of his office, a small contented smile on his lips.
Just because the rabbit had decided to let himself be caught didn't mean that the fox shouldn't continue to chase him.
