    Summary

Crowley’s head won’t stop humming — a constant, merciless static that no vice, sin, or sleepless night can drown out. When the noise becomes unbearable, he turns to the city’s darker corners in search of silence, of anything that might quiet the storm behind his eyes.

He doesn’t expect to find it in a place like Devotion.
And he certainly doesn’t expect who’s waiting there.

WIP, new chapters published twice a week on Wednesday and Friday.

    Post Armaged-don't, pre-S02.

    Summary

Premise: Worrying sometimes causes Aziraphale physical pain. Unfortunately, being an angel who doesn't agree with Heaven is a recipe for anxiety. Crowley knows (he's observant, right?) but getting the angel to trust him enough to let him try to help takes time. A lot of time, centuries in fact.

    **
Aziraphale had tried to ask about it once.

‘Do corporations ever, well, I suppose one might call it malfunction in any way?’

Gabriel had scoffed. He was good at scoffing.

‘Not unless you get discorporated. That might happen if you irritate someone enough. Who have you pissed off?’

    **
WIP but almost complete. I'll post three chapters upfront and then update weekly.

Written in response to a prompt for backstory, this is a (longer than I intended) account of developing friendship as Aziraphale gradually learns to trust Crowley enough to confide in him. It is a bit more angsty than I usually write with quite a bit of whump (but not graphic whump) and a lot of Crowley being caring (or trying to be, once Aziraphale will let him). Starts in the present day, but mostly set in the past. Happy ending (because it has to have!).

    Summary

And when Crowley’s grin spread wide, reckless and radiant, Aziraphale found himself powerless to do anything but mirror it, the corners of his own mouth curling upward as if drawn by gravity itself.
