It was just a regular day for this charcoal-haired young boy, he was only 12 years old, he was walking through the park with another person, a young dark-brown haired girl with a pink bow on her head, she was holding a little plush, it was a purple eggplant, she held on to this plush as the boy she was walking with gave it to her. Lets rewind time a bit, specifically two years ago.
"*Sniff*. *Sob*" Crying can be heard throughout the woods of the park. "*Sobbing* Wahhhhh!" getting closer... "*sniff sniff*" ah, there we go, the young girl with the pink bow is crying, she continued crying, she didn't realize the rustling of the bushes behind her.
"Aubrey?" The boy called out to the girl as she turned in surprise as the boy suddenly appeared. "Are... Are you ok?" the boy was worried, Aubrey was crying, she looked distressed, tired, in pain.
"S-Sunny! Sorry you had to see me like this, I'm fine thanks! I-I'll be heading out now!" Aubrey began speeding away from Sunny, tears blurred her vision, she didn't hear Sunny calling her name, she couldn't see, she tripped on a branch. "Oof!... *sniff* *sniff* Wahhhhhh!" Aubrey cried out as the pain on her body took over.
Sunny rushed to her side and picked her up, Sunny was surprisingly strong for a boy kind of skinny, as he carried a crying Aubrey in his arms he decided to place her on one of the seats on the swing-set, he swiftly took a seat in the other one. "What's wrong Aubrey? I'm worried for you." Sunny asked Aubrey, he wasn't lying, he really was worried for Aubrey.
"*sniff* I-I'm too embarrassed to say it." Aubrey said while hiding her face from Sunny.
"Aubrey... You know you can tell me anything, I'll be there for you no matter what ok?" Sunny said which relaxed Aubrey a little, she was still crying.
"O-Ok Well..." Aubrey would explain everything to Sunny, Sunny was mortified when heard what she said.
"O-Oh, Aubrey I never knew." Sunny said while still being worried for Aubrey.
"Of course you didn't know silly, I never invited you to my house, I never even talked about it!" Aubrey giggled to herself at Sunny's reaction.
"Hmmm... W-Wait here, let me get something." Sunny stood up and quickly left.
"O-Ok." some time after Sunny left he came back with something behind his back.
"U-Uh, Aubrey, I have something for you." he said while holding back the item.
"What is it?" Aubrey asked as Sunny showed it to be a plush, it was a purple eggplant.
"H-Here..." Sunny gave the plush to Aubrey, she held it in her arms like as if she was holding a little puppy, her eyes couldn't believe it.
"S-Sunny, you didn't have t-to..." Aubrey said while pulling Sunny for a hug.
"I know but I wanted to give you something." Sunny said while reciprocating the hug, he was mad blushing.
Fast forward to present-time the two kids were walking around the park when all the sudden... **FLLSHHH** A yellow and white portal opened below them.
"AH! come one we gotta get out of this!" Sunny said while trying to push Aubrey out, she wouldn't budge, her legs were already sucked in the portal.
"Ahhh! Sunny come on!" Aubrey said her, stomach was getting sucked in, Sunny however was trying to get her out.
"Come on! try and get out!" Sunny screamed, he always put others in front of him.
"Sunny I can't just leave you here!" Aubrey said while crying.
"Just try and get out!" Sunny said still pushing Aubrey but instead of Aubrey doing anything to get out...
"Wha!? Aubrey what are you doing!? Come on we need to get you safe!" but Aubrey still clinged on to him, she hugged him, she didn't want to let go, if Sunny was going in there, then Aubrey would too, Sunny was blushing a lot, he panicked, but calmed down, he clung onto Aubrey as they both descended down the portal.
"AHHHHHHHHHHH- OOF!" Aubrey exclaimed as she landed on Sunny on the soft sandy beaches. "Ow... S-Sunny!?" Aubrey exclaimed with an afraid look. "S-Sunny! Y-You can wake up now! I-It's safe!" Aubrey said while trying to hold a fake smile, Sunny still didn't wake up, she started to cry when all the sudden-
"mrrrrrrrgh..." Sunny exclaimed while waking up. "OOF-" Sunny exclaimed as Aubrey tightly hugged him.
"Y-You Idiot! D-Don't scare me like that ever again! I thought you died!" Aubrey was relieved that Sunny was ok.
"Heh, you care for me that much?" Sunny joked, Aubrey immediately turned red.
"Sunny!!! Really!? at a time like this!?" Aubrey was so embarrassed.
"Heh... Heh... Sorry." Sunny laughed it off as he reciprocated the hug, he was gonna say something else when-
"Uh... Hello..?" A strange man behind them spoke up which made both kids flinch.
"A-Ah! who... who are you?" Aubrey asked as she pulled away from the hug.
"Oh! That's right! I haven't properly introduced myself! *AHEM* Hello strange people! My name is prof. Laventon, I'm a scientist on this species called Pokemon!" Aubrey and Sunny were both confused.
"Pokemon?" Sunny asked.
"Yes! Yes! Pokemon! they are big and fierce creatures! but with our new invention, the Pokeball we can capture some Pokemon if we are brave enough!" Laventon says with a gleeful smile.
"hm... Pokemon..." Sunny says as Aubrey looks at the 3 small animals.
"Ah! I see you are intrested in the Pokemon I have!" Laventon said as he watched Aubrey pet the blue one, the blue-ish red one, and the green one.
"These are Pokemon? but, they don't look big, OR fierce." Aubrey asked Laventon to which he laughed.
"Ah yes, they are small and cute, but they are said to evolve and become bigger! much fiercer!" he said as Aubrey was starting to like this rpg game.
"Can we have them???" Aubrey asked, she really really really wanted the green one.
"First, you need to prove your wor- Hey! come back!" Laventon was cut off as the 3 pokemon scattered. "Ah- can you two please help me get them!?" Laventon asked both of the kids.
"Come on lets help him Sunny! *if we do we may get them!*" she whispered that last part, Sunny nodded and then they were given 50 Pokeballs, er, well, 25 each.
Aubrey first went for the green one and Sunny went for the blue one, and at the same time **CHLKK** the Pokeball hit the Pokemon as they soon heard a **CHINNGG** that meant they were caught, all that was left was the blue-ish red pokemon and they swiftly caught it. "Great work! Great work! Thank you for your help!" Laventon said as he grabbed the Pokeballs, much to the dismay of Aubrey. "You two are prodigies!" Laventon said when he remembered. "Ah! I never got your names! What are both of your names?" Laventon asked to which Sunny and Aubrey replied.
"I'm Sunny" Sunny said.
"I'm Aubrey!" Aubrey said.
they responded to Laventon to which he nodded. "Hmm, you two just started and can already catch Pokemon... I have an idea! Come with me!" Laventon said as a determined Aubrey carried a shy Sunny in her hands.
"Woahhhhh, what is this place?" Aubrey said as she looked around the village.
"Why, this is Jubilife Village!" Laventon said which excited Aubrey, she didn't realize but there were people that were talking, and it seems talking poorly, Sunny noticed, his hand clenched harder onto Aubrey's.
"Hm? What's wrong Sunny?" Aubrey asked Sunny, Sunny was shy and timid so being talked poorly made him nervous.
"P-People." He was able to say which confused Aubrey, she looked around and saw the people of the village talking about them, eyeing them.
"Don't worry about them Sunny, as long as I'm here you don't need to worry about anything!" She gave a big grin to Sunny, this calmed Sunny down, by a lot, his clench eased but he still held on to her hand, Aubrey decided to be a little bold and interlock fingers, Sunny turned tomato red as Aubrey interlocked fingers with him. They walked towards a potato mochi shop, before they could say anything a young girl, around 15 walked towards them.
"Hi prof. Laventon!" Akari greeted Prof. Laventon to which he greeted back. "Who are these two? and... why are they dressed like that?" Akari took her attention to the two, which made Sunny worried and clench Aubrey's hand.
"Why, these are Sunny and Aubrey! They are prodigies I say! They have already catched 3 Pokemon!" Laventon exclaimed proudly, Aubrey tried to calm Sunny down.
"THREE POKEMON!? You must've been really lucky today huh Laventon?" Akari asked to which Laventon nodded. "Why don't we celebrate our rare find?" Laventon asked Akari, Akari was a bit iffy but agreed.
Before they could order, a woman, around 30 walked up to them with a stern and serious look, she had... natural blue hair..? whatever this is a world where species as pokemon exist. "Who are these two professor?" The woman asked.
"Ah! Cyllene, these are two prodigies I must say!" Laventon exclaimed proudly, the woman turned to the two which actually made both of them flinch, the stern look she gave scared Aubrey, it reminded her of a certain someone, their hands clenched harder together.
"Hm. You seem you can work together. Very well, I will assign your first task, meet me in my office." Cyllene left and returned to her office.
"Ahah! I must say you two are very lucky to be soon joining the survey corps in the galaxy team!" Before they could say anything Laventon started walking to the building, not knowing what to do they both followed suit. They met Cyllene in her office.
"Alright your first task is to..."
