Work Text:

After a long night of demon hunting, Dante and the girls went to the bar to relax.

The Bar was called “The Lucky Rose" and it became Dante’s usual hangout spot after saving a client from a demon infestation taking over the bar.

The client turned out to be the owner of the bar Dante saved.

It eventually led to Dante becoming good friends with the owner and visiting the bar often.

It was a slow night for "The Lucky Rose'' and Vincent was cleaning up the bar before closing but his mind was somewhere else.

Well, more like someone else.

Ever since he met the white-haired devil hunter he couldn’t stop thinking about him.

After getting to know Dante more Vincent couldn't stop himself from falling in love with him.

The Hunter was Charismatic, Kind and Strong.

But sad.

One night during the busy hours at the Lucky Rose. Vincent saw Dante sitting alone at a booth far from the others. It was unusual to see the hunter away from everyone because he always brings a positive energy to the bar and makes everyone laugh and have a good time. Dante was the opposite of that tonight he was quiet and didn't want to be around anymore either. Vincent gave him space but he could've sworn he saw tears on the hunter's face.

It hurts the human to see the hunter so sad and alone.

Ever since that night, Vincent promised to find ways to make Dante smile.

Maybe it will give him the courage to ask the hunter out too.

A sound of a bell ringing cut off Vincent from his thoughts.

Someone entered the Bar.

“Hey, Vince!” A man in a red leather coat called out.

It was the hunter himself.

"Speak of the devil"

Dante wasn’t alone this time around, which was unusual for the human to see, behind him were two women he had never seen before.

Vincent felt jealous but ignored it.

"Hey! I was about to close the bar but since you're my favorite customer I'll let this one slide. Just this one time."

Dante gave Vincent a smile and went over to the barstool with Lady in tow while Trish went straight to the jukebox.

"So this is the bar you saved from becoming a demon Hotspot" Lady said giving the place a once-over.

Vincent put two beers in front of the hunters.

"Yup! If it wasn't for Dante here I would've become a demon swish kabob!"

"Yet I still had to pay for drinks"

"If I let you drink for free then everyone had to drink for free and I would run out of business" Vincent explained.

Dante laughed and drank his beer.

"Anyways this is Lady and blonde over there is Trish who are also devil hunters I team up with when I need a few extra hands.”

Vincent took a look at Trish and saw her struggling with the jukebox which made him remember that some asshole from last night broke it during a fit of rage and he forgot to put the “out of order” sign up.

“Sorry Ma’am but it's not gonna turn on, some jackass broke it last night!” Vincent yelled across the bar.

Trish just gave the man a smirk and turned her head back to the jukebox. She went a little closer to the machine and put her hand behind the jukebox.

She closed her eyes and started to concentrate on the broken machine. A few seconds later the jukebox turned on as if it was never broken in the first place.

Vincent stares in awe.

“You're a half-demon too?!” The human asked.

Dante and Lady laughed.

Trish removed her sunglasses.

The female demon gave the shocked human an Intense look.

“You can tell him the truth Trish I trust him”. Dante reassured her.

Trish let out a sigh.

“I'm a full demon, unlike Dante who is only half-demon. She explained to the human.

Vincent caught the she-devil by surprise with his response.

“That's so awesome!”.

Trish thought it was adorable.

Yeah, She can trust this human.

‘Well in that case I'm gonna dance. Give me two more Beers!” Lady ordered.

After she had the two beers in her hand she walked over to join Trish at the jukebox and gave the other beer to her.

Before Trish danced with Lady she looked toward Vincent.

"One more thing, don't call me ma’am or else” Her eyes flash gold to prove her point.

Vincent was terrified.

“No ma’am got it” He agreed.

Trish nodded then took Lady’s hand and began dancing with her.

Now Dante and Vincent were alone.

"Lady’s a demon too?"

Vincent wanted to start on small talk before asking the big question.

Dante took a long sip of his beer before answering.

"Nope but she's tough like one. She showed me when she put a bullet in my head"

Vincent gave Dante a horrified look after hearing Lady shot Dante in the head.

"Relax, obviously I'm fine or else I wouldn't be here right now. Perks of being a half-demon is I can heal faster then the average human" Dante explained to the horrified Bartender.

"I guess that explains why I never see you drunk," Vincent joked.

"Nope!" Dante was done drinking his first beer and was now opening a second one.

Vincent saw that as his cue to finally ask Dante out.

"Here's go nothing"

"Dante is good that you came because I-I wanted to ask if you're interested in having dinner with me? We could just be here at the bar eating dinner together, nothing fancy."

Dante licks his lips after taking a small sip of his beer then sets it down on the counter.

"Vince I would love to have dinner with you, really I do but in this line of work I don't really have time to be with someone".

Vincent fowned.

"Well I'm glad I got that out of my system." Vincent gave out a fake small laugh.

"Vince I-" Dante began to say but the bartender stopped him.

"No it's fine Dante really. Besides, it's late. I need to get ready before I close the bar but it was nice meeting your friends. See you around".

With that he went to the bar's storage room.

Dante let out a breath. He hoped this didn't ruin their friendship. The devil hunter cared for the human. Maybe as more than a friend he wasn’t sure but he would've found out if he accepted Vincent's offer.

Dante dug through his pockets and pulled out a couple of bucks then got up from his seat and headed towards the exit.

Before leaving he told Lady and Trish he was heading out and they could stay until Vince closed up soon.

The girls gave each other a knowing look with a grin to match.

Dante knew that look all too well.

"What?"

Trish spoke up.

"I heard all of what lover boy back there said to you. Why did you say no? I see the way he looks at you".

Dante was going to object but was cut off by Lady.

"It's a miracle someone's interested in you anyway. Lady turned her head to Trish and whispered in her ear "He probably likes pathetic men"

Trish giggled in response.

Dante was getting annoyed with the girl's antics.

"I'm right here!"

Trish stop laughing and got serious.

"I tell you what me and Lady leave while you wait here for Vincent and tell him you changed your mind." Trish pointed a finger at him.

Lady chimed in.

"Not only that I will let you off the hook for that payment you own me too. Just this once."

Dante didn't believe what he was hearing. Lady always loved to remind him to pay her back.

The girls were leaving but before Lady was fully out the door Dante asked "why do you guys care so much about this?"

"We both lost people we cared about but it doesn't mean we have to endure it alone. You deserve to be happy too."

With that she was gone.

Vincent expected the bar to be empty after coming back but it wasn’t.

The Silver-haired devil hunter hadn't left yet.

"You're still here?" Vincent thought he scared Dante away after he asked him out.

Dante didn't respond, instead He began to walk closer to the human.

"Is the offer from earlier still open" Dante purred.

Vincent hoped Dante didn't notice how excited he was with being so close together.

Dante's eyes went down to Vincent's pants.

"I guess that's a yes then" The devil hunter smirked.

"Shit He noticed" Vincent thought.

"Uh-uh yeah, is tomorrow night good?"

Dante leaned a little closer.

Vincent leaned in as well.

Dante passed his lips and went to Vincent's ear.

"Tomorrow night sounds good to me" He whispered.

Vincent can't believe he thought Dante was going to kiss him.

"See you tomorrow night" The devil hunter gave the human a wink and a smile before leaving.

Dante did not give the human much time to ask what made him change his mind.

Vincent let out a sigh.

"He really is something else"
