Aether was stood there when shit went down.
No one expected that the golden boy of the school would get courted by the infamous prickly-looking purple bowl cut haired guy in the most ridiculous way possible. Aether watched four storeys away as Kunikuzushi and his group of so-called "not friends" wearing formal attire makes a stonehedge-like formation with their speakers on the ground floor. Kunikuzushi was holding a bouquet in one hand and a microphone in the other. His face was flushed red and scrunched up to the point it looked too comical to Aether that he had to slap a hand over his mouth in order to not topple over from preventing his laugh because oh man he's not going to let this moment die.
"Come on Scaramouche, you wouldn't want to keep the pretty blondie from waiting, would you?" a tall ginger-haired boy next to Kunikuzushi snickered.
"Shut the fuck up," Kuni said as he tried to compose himself in front of Aether and a crowd of passerby students.
"I don't have time for this," his blue-haired friend clicked his tongue as he looked at his watch. "The more you dilly dally the longer you, no, we, have to be subjected to this humiliation."
"You two would have been in my mom's office if it weren't for me covering your ungrateful asses after you two did that stupid experiment that almost got the lab burned down yesterday," Kunikuzushi scoffed rolling his eyes.
"Hey now, that wasn't our fault entirely," the ginger raised an eyebrow and dramatically continued, "Our poor little harmless experiment got neglected cause a certain pipsqueak kept glancing at our dear golden boy from the next table each second. Speaking of, he's been waiting, you know." He pointed his thumb subtly above.
Kunikizushi's eyes immediately snapped to meet Aether's and the two stared at each other as if locked in a trance. His eyes were almost fond until his face scrunched up again which made Aether snort under his hand.
He raised the microphone, not caring about the agonizing loud feedback that caused the crowd and his friends to scamper away to save their ears from bleeding. He pulled a crumpled piece of paper from his pocket and glanced at what was written. He took a long breath.
"Aether"
Kunikizushi, despite his face warm, didn't look away from Aether as he said the next words that he may or may not about to regret saying in front of the whole campus. His mind went blank and went for it.
"I may be an ass, but...will you go out with me?"
The people waited in bated breath as they watched a low-budget confession drama play unfold oblivious to whether this would end tragically or not. Who would have thought that the principal's infamous son would ask out the golden boy who's the complete opposite of him in reputation and all in this way? Little did they know, the two couldn't stop the corner of their mouths from twitching for two different reasons.
Aether smiled and leaned forward from the window, slowly putting his hand down and shouted, "Yeah, sure!"
The ginger haired boy whooped and whistled while the other one left a long-suffering sigh as people around them made a commotion and clapped for the two.
"I hate it here," Kunikuzushi muttered as the noisy bunch kept up with the bell ringing.

Aether packed his bag and ran to meet Kunikuzushi outside the campus who's been busy checking his phone while leaning his back against a wall. Kuni glanced at the panting boy, waiting, and rolled his eyes, "Oh, just fucking laugh already."
" Pfft---What the hell was that!?" Aether cackled and continued to let out the most annoyingly beautiful laugh Kuni has known in his entire life. "You were supposed to follow the script. That was one half-assed confession back there, Kuni."
"The dare didn't actually indicate that I should follow the script you mustard," Kuni grumbled, pushing himself from the wall and walked with him. "I deserve a fucking star for even doing that shit," he deadpans.
"Yeah, yeah. You did a great job," Aether tried to pat his back but he shooed it away. "I was actually surprised you agreed to it in the first place, knowing you...and your emotionally constipated mug."
"Excuse me? I'm a delight," Kuni narrowed his eyes at him and continued to walk. "It's high time that everyone knows we're together anyways."
He saw Aether shifting from the corner of his eyes. He stopped and turned to look at the boy who's now looking down at his shoes with melancholic smile. "It was just a dare. I know you're not the type to let others know about your relationships. We could have done it in other ways if you wanted to but..." He looked back up and grinned. "...you still did it."
"I still did it," Kuni properly faced Aether and leaned towards him, smirking, "Cause I know you. You like those sappy wack shit and," He tilts his head and muttered with his eyes hooded "it's pretty worth it to see you smile."
He snorted as Aether spluttered and starts walking away, leaving Aether a hot blushing mess. "Don't forget to keep your end of the bargain."
"Wait, wha--"
"My house. 6 pm. This weekend." He glanced back at him, smirking, "You better be ready for payback."
