Work Text:
Jonathan and Joyce aren’t home.
Will has heat, El cannot find his suppressants, and no one is home besides them.
Eleven isn’t sure what she is supposed to do. Will presented a few months ago, but she couldn’t be with him at the time. Next time, when he had heat, Joyce said that it’s better to let El come to him next time.
This is that “next time” and she is with him, but Joyce and Jonathan aren’t here.
“El, it’s okay. It’s” Will takes a deep breath trying to calm his shivering body. “It’s nothing new. It will be a normal thing for me.” He looks at Eleven with furrowed brows from tiredness, through a pile of clothes from which he built his nest on Jonathan’s bed.
Eleven doesn’t like it. She knew that normal people should know what to do. That she should know what to do. She didn’t presented yet, but Dustin kept saying that she will present as Alpha. And if she is supposed to be alpha, and Will’s her family, wasn’t she supposed to know what to do?
“I’m sorry that I don’t know where are your suppressants” She said softly, anxiety clear in her voice, slowly walking to sit on the floor beside Will’s nest.
While looking at it, she noticed a lot of clothes from owners that she knew. Lucas’ bandame, Dustin’s cap, Max’s and Mike’s hoodies, and there are even her clothes as well as Jonathan’s and Joyce’s.
It made her feel warm inside. It seems that Will treats her as her family, as his pack. And that means a lot to her. A ghost of a smile crossed her lips.
Eleven didn’t even realize Will’s eyes on her, watching her. Not until he actually spoke.
“El. Would you mind… Coming to my nest? I would ask Jonathan, but he’s not here, and I feel a really big need to be close to someone I care about.” Eleven could only see his hair and pleading eyes from her position, but his words and whiny voice were enough for her to stand up and carefully enter his nest.
She knew at least that omegas need their pack with them when they are in heat. Or their lover, but Will doesn’t have one. She is sure that he likes someone, but nothing more.
That’s why, for now, his family and friends, have to be enough for him.
While she entered his nest, she realized that Will was hugging closely one of Mike’s hoodies, close to his heart. His breath was uneven, and there was sweat on his forehead, and at that moment El really felt guilty for not doing more for him.
His nest was big enough to fit at least one more, taller person. Probably Jonathan. Or Joyce, maybe.
Eleven blinked away those thoughts and laid beside Will, hugging him to her chest.
Sometimes, when the outside was dark and quiet, they would come to lay in one bed, clinging to each other for warmth and understanding. Both of them were having nightmares. Bad ones. And both of them didn’t want to worry others. And as much as El loved them, they just wouldn’t understand her worries. But Will understands. And she knows that he thinks the same. That’s why they chose to comfort in each other presence. In the daylight, they behave like they are okay. They don’t talk about it. But at the night, they are there for each other. Wonder Twins, how Joyce sometimes calls them jokingly.
As his head came closer to her chin, his scent quickly filled her nostrils, making her dizzy for a moment.
“Are you comfortable?” Will asked, taking her hand in his, letting her know that maybe he is the one needing comfort, but he still cares about her being, too. “I know that this nest isn’t the best, but I couldn’t find anything better from Dustin and Lucas and I wanted it to be perfect but-”
“Shh” Eleven was stroking slowly his arm. “It’s okay. It’s perfect. Cozy and…Pretty” She tried reassuring him, and from feeling him sighting in relief, she could think that it worked. At least a little bit. He was still stressed.
They were laying like that together for a moment, El nearly falling asleep when she heard Will’s voice again. She could also smell distress and shyness, which she wasn’t sure was a good thing or not, but she didn’t feel it earlier.
Maybe she will present soon? And that’s why she suddenly can smell more? She will ask Joyce about it later.
“This may sound weird, and you can tell no, but…” He tensed in her arms, “Can I scent you…?”
“Scent…me?” Eleven repeated quietly his words. “Like you scent Jonathan?”
Will turned around in her arms, so now he was facing her. Or more like, he hid his face in her arm in embarrassment. Eleven didn’t mind. She was just glad that he could find comfort in her presence.
“Yeah… Sorry to bother you” Will answered after a few seconds, and titled his face from El’s arm, feeling her moving. She titled her head, so her neck was completely exposed.
Eleven saw that Will was holding himself back, and it was hard for him, but she knew that he won’t do anything without her consent first. So Eleven nodded in affirmation, “I don’t mind. You are my brother.”
Tears appeared in Will’s eyes, making his face even redder from sweat, embarrassment and now crying, but she could also smell happiness coming from him.
He didn’t wait any longer and buried his nose in the crook of El's neck, pulling her a little closer, so his nose brushed hers scent gland. He inhaled deeply, and Eleven could feel how his body is relaxing in her arms. He was getting calmer.
Eleven hugged him closer to herself, caressing his back like she saw Joyce sometimes did.
She was getting sleepy again.
It was warm and cozy in here, and she was only hearing Will’s even breath.
Her eyes were slowly closing.
But before she fell asleep, she managed to hear two words from Will that made her fall asleep with a smile on her lips.
“Thanks, sis.”
