Chapter Text
The two heroes create their own continent from nothing after the great apocalypse. They gathered others who needed refuge and invited them to stay with them. It isn’t easy to make a country but bit by bit with the help of Yoo Joonghyuk order and Kim Dokja strategy, they manage to build a big empire. Yoo Joonghyuk was made the emperor of the vast empire, and Kim Dokja was made as his empress. Everyone in their continent is aware of their emperor's deep affection toward their beloved empress. The villagers are intimately familiar with Kim Dokja Company especially Kim Dokja because they are the backbone of this vast continent.
As the year pass by, they are now living peacefully on the land they created. The KimCom are no longer employed by the castle and have retired to live their own lives. They have amassed enough manpower to defend the entire country. They should now get some rest. Even though they are living independently, they will always be available whenever the emperor and empress need them.
Kim Dokja would sometime take a walk around the country and chat with the villagers which making them to love him more. Yoo Jonghyuk would tag along if he doesn't have work. Kim Dokja and Yoo Jonghyuk treat others the same. They don't believe in hierarchy. That's why their land are full of love and harmony.
Good things never stay forever; sooner or later, something bad will happen. A terrorist struck the palace at night on March 15 which is on the empress birthday banquet and caused mayhem. Without anybody noticing, someone has abducted their empress in the midst of the mayhem. A group of men held Yoo Joonghyuk back so they could divert his attention from the empress.
Yoo Joonghyuk notices his empress is nowhere in sight when the commotion has subsided.
"Kim Dokja!"
"Where are you?! Kim Dokja!" He looks everywhere for him but is still unable to locate him. He turns the whole palace upside down and are ready to kill everyone there but luckily the KimCom manage to calm their emperor down.
It is known to him later that no one was guarding the empress as the empress rush them to help other people first and keep reminding them that he would be fine alone since he used to have Demon King of Salvation as one of his nicknames in the apocalypse. One thing that the KimCom seem to forgot before leaving their empress alone is that their empress is known to be a suicide bastard.

5 years later,
Yoo Joonghyuk persevered in his quest for Kim Dokja and scoured the entire country. As long as he does not see his own dead body in front of him, he will not quit up. As though in response to his thought, a soldier approached him. "Your highness, I am here to report about our discovery in the dark forest."
Yoo Jonghyuk can see how the soldier was holding his tears back but he try to be as positive as he can. "Go ahead."
" As we were searching for clues about the empress, we discovered several bones and a royal garment that appeared to be the last one that the empress had worn. The KimCom had already arrived at the scene and confirm about it." after saying that, the soldier can't keep their emotion up and tears started to roll down his cheek. The empress used to help him before he disappear.
Yoo Jonghyuk feels like his heart had been stabbed a million times. He instantly went to the location given, not believing the soldier's story. He notices everyone gathered around what appears to be tattered garments and bones. He noticed Han Sooyoung and the kids bawling their eyeballs out, as well as Jung Heewon, who appeared to be holding back her sobs. Lee Hyunsung, who is comforted by Yoo Sangah, who is also crying.
He brushes everyone off, and his leg weakens when he notices Kim Dokja's garment shredded and torn everywhere, as if clawed by something large. He clutched the cloth and the bone to his chest and cry out loud. For the first time in history, they saw their cold and unbothered emperor shed his tear. The rain fell heavily, as if they, too, were mourning Kim Dokja's death.
