It had been about a few days since everyone had found out that Chisato had about two months left. The blonde was unsurprisingly still her energetic self and she told everyone not to worry about her. Takina took the news the hardest, she found it hard to eat or sleep at night. She found herself sticking closer to Chisato’s side than usual and urging her not to over exert herself.
Takina had convinced Chisato to let her live with her again for the time being. Takina was overcome with emotions as of late. She was upset, she was frustrated, she was sad, she was depressed, but most of all she was angry. She was angry that the world was treating Chisato this way. Chisato was the kindest person she had ever met, she never would purposely hurt anyone and everyone loved her, so why? Why did bad things happen to good people? Takina pondered these thoughts as tears began to well up in her eyes. She pulled her knees into her chest as she sat on her bed in Chisato’s spare room.
Takina’s life had been dull and boring before she met Chisato, it only consisted of missions and following orders from the DA, but everything changed when she met the blonde. It was difficult for the raven haired girl when she first got kicked out of the DA but as time went on she found her life filling with more color. Takina found that Chisato’s made the sky clearer, and she made the stars shine brighter. She knew what all these feelings meant, she was in love with Chisato, but saying it out loud would just make things harder for everyone so she would keep her feelings locked deep inside her heart.
A faint knock on the door brought Takina out of her thoughts and she quickly wiped her tears with the sleeves of her sweater before saying “Come in.”
The door opened and Chisato walked in and sat on the edge of the bed and smiled at Takina before she let a worried smile grace her face and she spoke “What’s wrong? Why have you been crying? Takina, I’m okay! You don’t have to worry about me, really! I feel fine!”
The blonde flexed her bicep and grinned to show Takina that she was fine. Takina rested her chin on her knees and sniffled her tears that threatened to fall again when Chisato sidled up next to her and wrapped an arm around her leaning her head on Takina’s shoulder. Chisato asked “Are you going to eat dinner tonight?”
Takina shook her head and buried her face in her knees. Chisato sighed as she squeezed Takina slightly and said “Takina please eat something, you haven’t eaten in two days.”
The younger girls head shot up and she met eyes with Chisato and Takina questioned voice breaking “How? How can you act like everything is okay, and everything is normal?”
Chisato cocked her head to the side and answered “Well, I’m happy! I mean As long as I get to spend the rest of my time with you and doing things that make me happy then I think I lived a good life. Don’t you think so too?”
Takina started to sob “No! It’s not fair! I want to be with you longer!”
Chisato hugged the younger girl close to her and asked “Takina, why are you being so stubborn about this?”
Takina cried as her body shook violently “Because I love you Chisato! I know I shouldn’t say something stupid like that but it’s true! I know me telling you just makes it harder for both of us but I love you and I don’t know what to do!”
Chisato held Takina tightly as sobs racked through her body. The blonde felt tears begin to well up in her eyes and she spoke “Takina, It’s not stupid, I love you too, I have for a long time. I’m happy, I’m so happy!”
Takina’s sobs quieted and she pulled back from Chisato’s embrace and asked “You’re happy? You like me too?”
Chisato smiled brightly at Takina and wiped away her tears before leaning down to gently kiss her. The blonde replied “I’ve liked you since that day at the DA fountain.”
Takina hid her face in Chisato’s neck and said voice breaking “But I don’t want to loose you.”
Chisato hugged her as she felt her tears begin to wet her neck. Chisato kissed her head and spoke “You have me with you now, and everyone is working hard to figure something out. Hopefully they can find a solution but if not It’ll be okay. I’m glad, that we got to meet and spend these months together, and I’m happy that we fell in love. Even if it doesn’t end well don’t you think it’s better to love and loose than to never have loved at all?”
Takina pulled away from Chisato’s neck and the blonde wiped away her tears. The younger girl hugged the blonde and answered “Meeting you is the best thing that’s ever happened to me, and I don’t know what i would do if I would have never met you so even though it’s hard, I’ll try my best to be positive for your sake.”
Chisato leaned in and kissed Takina gently and smiled before saying “Don’t worry there’s still about two months, we can go on plenty of dates and try to find a solution! Now let’s go eat dinner!”
Takina smiled softly and replied “Okay, I’ll hold you to that promise.”
