El rolls her eyes for the thousandth time that day as she listens to the party yap about their relationships in the group chat. Mike and Will love to throw their relationship with into everyone's face. It's quite irritating, but El knows if she could, she would do the same. Dustin and this nice girl are the definition of adorable. He treats her like a princess, like he should because his girlfriend is hot as fuck, but El's definitely not looking at her. Not when her girlfriend is Max motherfucking Mayfield.
Max Mayfield. The absolute woman of her dreams. The woman who has been there for her every second of the way throughout her whole life. When she was confused about her feelings for Mike, when Hopper ended up in the ER for liver issues (to this day, she tells him to slow down on the drinking, but he just cheers and drinks some more), and even more. Max was always there for her. That's something she'll always remember for the rest of her life. This is the life she's wanted since she was a little girl. Yeah, her prince might actually be a princess but she's okay with that. At least her best friend now has the full approval of her significant other.
"Baby," a groggy voice mumbles lifting their head up to glance at El who smiles slightly back at her, "are you okay, baby?"
El smiles wrapping her arms around Max's waist, lying her head back on her chest, "Perfect."
Max tries to stop herself from falling back asleep as she feels El's soft breaths on her chest, "You need some sleep. How long have you been up?"
"Only a few hours," El mumbles shutting her eyes, "I love to watch you when you sleep."
"That's a bit creepy, but I like the thought." Max chuckles as she runs her fingers through El's hair slowly, trying to lull the girl back to sleep. "Sleep, baby girl. I'll be here in the morning."
"I love you." El snuggles closer to Max who pulls her closer, "So much."
"And I love you, baby." The redhead kisses the top of El's head, "Time for bed."
The brown-haired girl watches as Max falls asleep before grabbing her phone and going on her private twitter to tweet out her love for her girlfriend.

El places a hand over her mouth as she looks at her phone in astonishment. She can't believe she just exposed her sexuality like that. ON TWITTER?!
"Fuck," El mutters as she looks at her tweet which has gained at least 100 likes since last night. She's definitely fucked now. No going back.
El sighs as she glances over at her girlfriend who is next to her asleep with her hair in a bun, glasses barely on her face. El leans over to peck that cute freckle that's on Max's cheek before quietly moving out of bed. She makes her way downstairs where she smiles at Max's foster mother who is about to leave once again for that month long trip, but not before leaving at least enough money to keep Max safe and content.
El opens the fridge to pull out the milk before pouring cereal in a bowl for her. She pulls her phone out as she takes a bite of the cereal as she glances at the group chat where she gets what she was expecting.
Robin: ok ELEVEN who's ur girl
Robin: I know it ain't me bc I'm in love with multiple women that don't include u
Lucas: lesbians I swear
Robin: shut up straighty
Robin: El???
El: no one
El: talking about my goldfish
Robin: that's a lil bit creepy and weird but ok
Robin: who is it? Tammy in biology? I know she gay
Dustin: you literally graduated years ago? how do you know about tammy in bio?
Nancy: yeah how do YOU know, Robin?
Robin: uh... well.. im gay. I know everything! Isn't that right, Max?
El: she's asleep and it's about my goldfish i miss my baby

El groans loudly as she pushes her bowl of cereal away from her. She starts to hear footsteps slowly make their way down the stairs, in comes Max with a huge smirk on her face.
"Please don't talk to me right now," El mumbles as her cheeks start to turn red.
Max sits down next to her girlfriend with a smirk, "Hi girlfriend. Who's the girl you're in love with?"
"Shut up." El rolls her eyes as she grabs Max's hand, kissing the back of it.
"If it helps, I'm in love with you too." Max presses a kiss on El's cheek, "So much I'd probably tweet it out too."
"You're literally annoying," El replies with a cheeky smile, pulling the older girl in for a kiss.
Max pulls away after a few seconds, "I'm assuming my mother left. We have the house to ourselves now."
El smirks as she pulls Max up, kissing her neck, "Let's make the most of it."
"You know it's Nancy, right?" Will tells Robin who gasps, only wanting to mess with her.
"Nancy would not cheat on me with Hopper. That would be very weird." Robin rolls her eyes, "I have a slight feeling on who it is."
Lucas rolls his eyes at the older girl, "Like who?"
"Someone close with El, a bond that couldn't be broken." Robin hums, "What do you think Max?"
Everyone looks at Max who chuckles at them, leaning against her knees, "I agree."
"What if it's you, Nancy, or Max?" Mike questions, "It would only make sense."
"Why would it be me?" Nancy asks with an eye roll, "I'm literally taken."
"I know." Dustin winks at Nancy who rolls her eyes.
Robin pulls her closer to her, "and dating me."
"By default, that leaves you." Mike raises an eyebrow at Max who rolls her eyes at the messy-haired boy, "What?"
"Your implications are not cute," Max tells him, "I know who her girlfriend is. You all have to figure it out yourselves."
The whole group groans as Max leans back and smirks at the clueless teens. They'll never figure it out, and Max is willing to play this game until it is over.
"I missed you so much," El mumbles against Max's lips as the older girl pushes her up against the wall in the janitor's closet.
"You're so hot," Max replies, trailing kisses down El's neck, causing the other girl to moan very loudly, "Shhh. Everyone will hear you."
"I want the whole world to." El moans once again as the redhead slightly bites her on the neck, "I want the whole world to hear you fuck me."
"Oh fuck." Max groans as she grips El's hair to pull her away, "On the table. Now."
El immediately obeys as she hops onto the tiny table in the closet, pulling the redhead closer to her. The older girl presses her fingers against the skin of El's hip as she continues to place kisses on the side of El's neck.
Max goes to place her fingers on the hem of El's pants before she hears movement outside of the door. Her eyes widen as she quickly pulls away, fixing her hair, then helping El down off the table as soon as the door opens revealing the janitor.
"What are you two doing?" The janitor asks with raised eyebrows.
"Ask her!" El exclaims nervously pointing to her girlfriend who glares at her.
"Uh." Max scratches her head awkwardly, "We were cleaning the mop!"
"I didn't know you kids would be interested in cleaning a mop," The janitor states, "but okay. Get out of my office."
"It's a closet," Max trails off causing the Janitor to give her a dead look, "nice little office here. Quite cozy. Looks like we gotta go. Bye!" Max pulls El along after her.
"Sorry!" El calls to him as she's being pulled away by Max.
"Fucking horny teenagers," The janitor mumbles under his breath as he grabs his broom.
"Truth or Dare?"
El sighs as she knows she's fucked either way, "Dare."
Robin smirks as she glances around the room, "I dare you to kiss the hottest person in this room."
Mike rolls his eyes, "That's not fair when I'm here."
"Excuse me? I'm here too." Will raises an eyebrow at his boyfriend who just pecks his lips.
El groans, "Seriously?"
"A dare is a dare, Hopper." Max smirks, "Kiss the hottest person in the room."
"Doesn't she have a girlfriend?" Dustin asks with a raised eyebrow.
El's eyes widen as she nods, "Yes and my girlfriend would be very mad."
Max chuckles as Lucas looks at her with furrowed eyebrows. Max shrugs her shoulders at him as they listen to El ramble about how her girlfriend would be mad if El were to kiss someone else besides her.
"I don't think she'd be so mad after all," Lucas mumbles to himself as a light bulb seemingly clicks on his head.
Robin rolls her eyes as she looks at the time, "I need new friends. Goodnight."
Lucas quickly moves closer to Max and El, who raise their eyebrows at him in question, "I know I'm not the brightest star in the universe, but you two such at hiding your relationship."
El's eyes widen as Max laughs quietly, "Uh, no."
"Baby," the redhead starts, "Jig is up now. He knows."
Lucas rolls his eyes, "I can't believe I sensed the gay tension between you two before Robin did. Now, fucking kiss to end this bullshit please."
El quickly shakes her head as she doesn't want the group to know about their relationship, but Max doesn't really mind anymore. It's been a cycle for months now. Maybe the time is right to announce their relationship.
"Robin!" Lucas exclaims, "Look at these two!"
Lucas softly pushes El's and Max's heads close to each other so they could gently kiss one another. As if on que, the whole world is watching them, but they're on their own little world every single time their lips connect. It's like a bunch of fireworks going off, caterpillars turning into butterflies, and relating to human nature.
Robin gasps, "I fucking knew it!"
Will rolls his eyes, "No the fuck you didn't. Boring piece of shit."
"Me? Boring? You're sadly mistaken, miss dumb bitch. I'm the expert here. I knew all along," Robin says smugly.
Max throws a pillow at her, "Nice try. Your lesbian senses weren't tingling, were they?"
Robin grunts crossing her arms across her chest, "I'm going home."
Quickly everyone follows after Robin after wishing the two congrats, but Max decides to stay a few more minutes to kiss El.
"They were going to find out eventually," Max tells her, pushing a strand of hair behind the younger girl's ear.
"I know. I'm sorry," El says, "if I knew I was on my back up account, none of this would be happening."
"It's okay," Max assures the girl, "at least I can scream at the top of the rooftops that El Hopper is the girl I'm in love with. That's a plus."
El's stomach fills with butterflies. She has such an amazing girlfriend, "I love you so much. You're my home."
"I love you. Get some sleep. I'll take you out on our first public date tomorrow," Max tells her leaning down to kiss the younger girl, "I love you."
"I love you too."
A few hours after Max leaves El's house, El gets a notification indicating that her girlfriend has tweeted something. El furrows her eyebrows while brushing her teeth as she opens up the app to see what the notification was.
