Hob just got dumped.
It's fine, nothing that hasn't happened before, but it hurts. At least he has a good friend to help him through it. But his friend is struggling with his own shadows, and is counting on Hob to help him through it, too, even if he won't admit it.
Perhaps this is an opportunity. Perhaps they can finally learn how to be better friends for each other. And perhaps, if Hob just plays his cards right, he will even get to figure out who exactly his friend is.
