Chapter Text
In an old house in Paris
that was covered with vines
lived twelve little vod'e
in two straight lines.
In two straight lines they broke their bread
and brushed their teeth
and went to bed.
They smiled at the good
and frowned at the bad
and sometimes they were very sad.
They left the house
at half-past nine
in two straight lines
in rain
or shine-
and Cody'ka would lead them fine.
He was not afraid of mice-
He loved winter, snow, and ice.
To the nexu at the zoo,
Cody'ka just said, "Pooh pooh."
And nobody else was quite so keen
at disturbing Seventeen.
In the middle of one night
Seventeen turned on his light
and said, "Something is not right!"
Little Cody'ka near his bed
cried and cried, and clutched his head
and soon after Dr. Che,
came, she rushed to comm Nurse E
and she dialed: JEDI-two-four-
"Nurse," she said, "prepare the floor!"
Everybody had to cry-
not a single eye was dry.
Cody'ka was in her arm
in a blanket safe and warm.
In a car with a red light
they drove out into the night.
Cody'ka awoke two hours
later in a room with flowers.
Cody'ka soon ate and drank.
on his bed there was a crank,
and a breeze from the corner liked to creep
across his pillow as he'd sleep.
Outside were birds, trees and sky-
and so ten days passed quickly by.
One nice morning Seventeen said-
"Oh isn't this a-
day to visit Cody'ka."
VISITORS FROM TWO TO FOUR
read a sign outside his door,
tiptoeing with solemn face,
with some holos and a mace
in they walked and then said "oh?"
when they saw the knives and textbooks
and the helmet from Jango.
But the biggest surprise by far-
on his face there was a scar!
"Good-bye," they said, "we'll come again,"
and the little vod'e left in the rain.
They went home and broke their bread
brushed their teeth
and went to bed.
In the middle of the night
Seventeen turned on his light
and said, "Something is not right!"
And prepared for a disaster
Seventeen ran fast-
and faster!
and he said, "Report, cadets!
Tell me where to find this threat?"
and all the little vod'e cried, upset,
"We don't have cool scars like Cody'ka yet!"
"It's good you're all safe,"
and he smile at the tweens
"Kark off now to sleep,"
said Seventeen.
And he bid them goodnight-
and closed the door-
and that's all there is-
there isn't any more.
