Work Text:

“What’s the matter?” Popko shouted. “No lightning today?”

Popzula growled, her crust crumbling and shedding crumbs all over the kitchen counter. “I’ll show you lightning!” She jumped up onto the toaster’s power cord, yanking the plug out of the socket! As the metal prongs flew towards Popko, sparking bright blue, Popzula suddenly swung it in a different direction!

Popko looked where the plug was headed, and he saw it was going straight towards Pop-Tar(t)a. “No!” he shouted, jumping in the way. The plug hit him right in the center, and he fell backward, a blackened sizzling hole in the middle of his frosting.

Pop-Tar(t)a gasped. A fierce battle occurred, with both Popzula and Pop-Tar(t)a frostingbending as hard as they could. Finally, Pop-Tar(t)a knocked Popzula into the sink, where she fell into a puddle of soapy water.

Pop-Tar(t)a ran over to Popko, where he lay still. She desperately tried to heal him, letting her Frosted Blueberry (trademarked) frosting drip onto him and over his burn, but it was no use. He was gone.

Pop-Tar(t)a started to sob. She realized she loved Popko, but now she would never get the chance to tell him. The kitchen seemed so much darker without him. As a giant hand swooped down from the sky and picked her up, as teeth started to tear her apart, she could not find the will in herself to resist.

Zuko chewed thoughtfully, brushing a few crumbs off his shirt. Katara leaned forward on her elbows, watching him expectantly. “Well?”

“Fine,” he grumbled, trying to suppress a smile at her eagerness. “It’s good.”

Katara grinned. “I knew you’d like them. I can’t believe you’ve never had a Pop-Tart before.”

He glanced down at the strawberry one. “Oh, this one got burned.”

Katara frowned and plucked it from his fingers. She shrugged and took a bite, swiping her tongue across her lips in a way that made Zuko’s heart stutter to a stop for a moment. “A little scar never stopped me from loving something before,” she smiled, her fingers brushing along his cheek.

“Ugh.” Azula entered the kitchen and pretended to vomit. “Get a room, you two.” As she swatted the two of them away, she glanced down into the sink. “Why the hell is there a soggy Pop-Tart in here?”
