Work Text:
Darren woke up with Ca$h curled up against them, asleep. They were still getting used to waking up with a partner they hadn't had sex with the night before, but they loved Ca$h more than sex. They also felt a bit bad- After Ca$h had explained to them how he thinks about sex, they'd done some research into asexuality and wanted to punch themself in the face. Every 'Don't say this to asexuals' post they came across was practically word-for-word things that they'd said to or about Ca$h.
Slowly but surely, Ca$h also woke up, but he seemed less content. His face was a bit tight and his jaw was clenched, as though he was in some sort of physical discomfort. "Are you okay?" Darren asked softly, stroking his hair. They got a low groan in response and frowned. "Sorry, I couldn't quite make that out"
"Ibuprofen" Ca$h muttered vaguely. Darren wasn't entirely sure what to make of that, but he seemed a bit desperate so they went to the bathroom, located the ibuprofen, grabbed a glass of water from the kitchen, and returned. Ca$h swiftly snatched the items from their hands, downing two pills before they could even ask. "Thanks"
"Do you wanna explain what that was?"
"Just leg pain" Ca$h dismissed. "It happens sometimes. My legs will just feel weak and like they're burning. It's not a big deal"
"Um, that sounds like a big deal" Darren replied, mouth slightly agape as they sat back down on the bed with their boyfriend. Ca$h just shrugged. "You know that's not normal, right?"
"I can't do anything about it" Ca$h told them with a sigh. "I've gone to doctors but they had nothing for me. It's easier if I just don't think too much about it, okay?"
"...Okay, but you know I'm here to help you if you need it, right?"
"I know" Ca$h confirmed with a nod, leaning over and giving them a kiss on the cheek. "Thanks for that. I love you"
"I love you too, Doug"
