Magnus loves parties. He was the host of so many through high school that he lost count. As busy lawyers, his parents weren't around that much. So throwing parties was never a problem for him. Magnus doesn't blame them for that. He knows how hard they work. Everything he has, all the luxuries, money, cars, and trips to anywhere in the world, is all thanks to them.
Today he's not the host. His friend Raphael is. Well, his parents are. They opened a new club downtown and Magnus won't miss that for anything.
He met Raphael last year on their first day of college. Being roommates was hard at first. They have different personalities. Not always agreeing on everything but now are inseparable.
"Are you ready princess?" someone asked from outside his bedroom door.
"Don't rush perfection my little cabbage!"
"You know I hate it when you called me that..." said Ragnor while entering his room. Rolling his eyes he sat down on the bed. "Come on Magnus... Raphael will kill us if we're late!"
Finishing his eyeliner Magnus couldn't help but laugh," I know that. I'm almost ready."
Twenty minutes later they were in the car. Their friend Catarina would be waiting for them at the front door.
When they arrived the line was huge, it probably went around the block. Magnus was happy for his friend, tonight was going to be a success.
"Finally!" Catarina called from the door, "Come on Raphael is a nervous wreck!" she said while they followed her inside.
Magnus had already seen the space and the decoration for tonight's party...but seeing it full of people dancing, drinking, and having a good time was another thing.
Walking to the VIP area he could see Raphael and his boyfriend talking. From their body language, Magnus could see that something went wrong.
"I'll take care of that! Don't worry, okay?" Simon was telling Raphael when they got closer to them.
"Is everything okay?" asked Magnus.
"No, this night is going to be a disaster! The band that was supposed to be playing tonight just called me saying that their main vocalist broke his leg and they are on their way to the hospital... I was in charge of the band! My parents are going to kill me" Magnus has never seen Raphael this upset.
"Babe, I know someone that can replace them! I'll call him and I'm sure he will help us." Simon said taking his phone out.
Magnus looked at his friends and none of them knew who he was going to call.
"Hey, it's me... I need your help. Can you be at Pandemonium as soon as possible? My boyfriend's parents are the owners and the band that was supported to perform tonight just canceled... I know..." Simon was quiet for a few seconds," Really? You'll do that? Man, I'll be owning you a big one! I'll send you the address. Text me when you get here and I'll meet you at the back door!...YES!!Bey!"
"So?" asked Catarina.
"My friend will be here in 30 minutes. He has a band and they will perform for us." Simon said relieved seeing his boyfriend smile.
"You are a life savior! Te amo" he said kissing Simon.
"Are they good?" asked Ragnor not really sure this mystery band would be a good idea.
"They are amazing! Some of them go to our college."
"Oh... are they known?" Magnus was curious. He never heard Simon say he was friends with a band.
"Yes! They have already done some concerts and have a Youtube channel with millions of subscribers. I met them when my best friend, Clary, started dating one of the members a few months ago."
Magnus had met Clary a few times before. She's a lovely person.

They were having a few drinks when suddenly Simon took his phone out and smiled."They're here. I'll be right back." he looked at Raphael, "If your parents ask this was the band you hired. Nothing went wrong." he winked at him and left.
"If this band is as good as Simon says I'll be forever grateful. He just saved me from my parents' wrath."
A few moments later Simon was back.
"They're already setting up their instruments. Tell your dad he can start the show," he said kissing Raphael.
He texted his dad and for the first time tonight was able to breathe properly.
When the DJ stopped the music everyone turned around to the big stage. António Santiago stood there smiling.
"Good night everyone! Welcome to Pandemonium!" everyone cheered, "Tonight as promised, we have a special guest."This band is amazing and I bet most of you know them. Ladies and gentlemen... /SHADOWS\"
The screams were overwhelming.

Magnus couldn't believe it! This is Alexander Lightwood's band! The Alexander he has had a crush on since he first saw him a few months ago on campus! Magnus must be dreaming. Since when was Simon friends with Alexander?
There on the stage dressed in a black crop top, leather pants, and shining black boots, stood the man he's been dreaming about for months. Magnus looked at the rest of the band and recognized some of them. On the drums is a black girl, he doesn't know her name but he knows that she's Alec's friend, they were always together. On the guitar was Izzy Lightwood and on the bass was Jace Lightwood, Alec's siblings.
"They are really good right?!" Catarina was suddenly beside him, "Catarina...T-That's my Alexander" she looked at him confused.
She stopped jumping and took a better look at the band..."Oh my God! Magnus, he looks so different! Did you know he had a band?"
"No!" he couldn't take his eyes off Alexander, "On campus, he uses these really cute glasses... How is he so... Sexy right now?!"
Catarina looked at him and if arousal was a person it would be Magnus right now. The way he looked at Alec...
"Close your mouth!" she laughed at his friend.

Five songs later the DJ was taking over again. Magnus and his friends got back to their table and ordered more drinks. They were laughing at something Simon said when they saw Alec and his band making their way to their table.
"Hi, I'm Raphael. Thank you for coming tonight on such short notice." Raphael said extending his hand at Alec.
"It's okay, we're glad we could help you and Simon." he looked at his band, "This is Izzy and Jace, my siblings and that's Maia my best friend."
"Welcome to Pandemonium. Order whatever you want. It's on the house." he smiled. It was the least he could do after all.
Simon got up and hugged Alec, "Dude! You were amazing! Thank you so much". Alec smiled while patting his back, "Thank you. I'm happy you enjoyed it. You can let go now..."
Laughing he let go of Alec and got back to his boyfriend. Magnus took that as his chance.
"Hello, darling. I don't think we've been formally introduced...I'm Magnus Bane" he said putting on his charming smile. He needs Alec to like him.
"Alec Lightwood" he smiled holding his hand, "And I know who you are. How could I not know the name of the most beautiful person on campus." taking advantage of Magnus' brief surprise, Alec pulled his hand closer and gave it a soft kiss. Always looking him in the eyes.
Magnus couldn't breathe. Is Alec flirting with him?
"I-I" Magnus was stuttering. He never stutters. "You're beautiful too..." that was all he could say.
They just stood there. Looking at each other. Smiling. Mesmerized.
