Work Text:
That morning, when the door to the mansion opened, for the umpteenth time Louis took a deep breath and didn't forget to stroke his chest, trying to be patient with what greeted him.
"Really John? Again?"
"Ahaha, good morning Louis. 'It' looks a lot like you doesn't it? I 'unknowingly' was stunned and took him straight away."
Remind Louis to quickly get used to his boyfriend's behavior after more than a week of being confused with the pile of strange things he brought.
"John, I can't see what I have in common with this pot?"
Cheerful laughter was the answer to his 'accident' that Sunday morning.

It all started with their last date, exactly a week ago at the classics festival. Neither of them had a particular interest in the classics, but his older brother, Albert, had other ideas.
"Classic is the exemplar of the sacred, Louis. The origin of all modernity is something that has been around for a long time. We have to think about how great the creations of smart people in their era are not as advanced as today. So that—"
"Yes, I understand Brother. So a flower vase and a wine glass, right? Anything else?"
"Ashtrays also displays of iron knights with shields and swords, you know what I mean?"
'How to get home later!?' A nod was Louis's answer, resigned to having to go back and forth to bring the knight of armor or whatever.
Louis shouldn't have said he was going to the classic festival to his brother. He had tried to keep his mouth shut, but who would have thought that Albert could hide his existence -like the anime character next door-. As a result, he and John inevitably became 'victims', I mean 'messengers', no it's a 'lust satisfaction'—
Being the eldest brother's 'right hand' under the pretext that he has an important job so he can't go to the festival.
He looked sadly mixed with misery he directed at his lover who just smiled sadly beside him, "Sorry you have to be involved in drama— Brother Albert's request."
"It's okay Louis. As long as I'm with you, everything will be fine," a gentle, magic-like stroke made Louis feel calmer.
In the end, they bought what Albert asked for, all dating which was their first goal.
One thing that Louis didn't think about was the extra 'bonus' he would get from his lover a week from now.

'Don't tell me John was under the spell of Sis Albert again!?'
"Louis?"
"Eh? Yes, what's wrong John?"
The finger in front of him was pointing downwards, following the direction he was pointing Louis instantly widened his eyes. "The pot!"
Quickly Louis turned off the stove, reached for the basin of water in the sink, and poured it on the poor pot that he had left burning for so long he had been absent-minded. A long sigh escaped his lips, feeling that many things had gone wrong all day.
"Louis, are you mad at me?" A hug from behind miraculously calmed Louis's overflowing anger.
Maybe it's true, only John is the only 'calm' for him.
He leaned his body against John, who sat him down on his lap. "No, I just had a lot on my mind."
"Sorry if I like to give Louis a headache. But it's true what I said, I always think of you, and those things are only a few of what I remember."
Louis turned around, put his face in the crook of John's neck, and inhaled the scent that made him calmer, miraculously. "It's fine. Just you know, I'm not used to receiving this many gifts, in a row."
Louis was a simple boy, even though he was one of the richest nobles in England. John knew that and he more than understood why Louis could think this way.
Louis, and his second brother William, were not the real children of the Moriarty family. Both are used to a life full of hardships in a suburban orphanage. One time the two met Albert who was on vacation there. At that time William was panicking because Louis had a relapse, fortunately, Albert passed in front of them and helped treat his brother.
Since then, William and Louis have become adopted children of the Moriarty family and Albert's younger brother. And even so, both of them still have an attitude that is too simple, in fact, they often refuse Albert's funds and choose to work to meet each other's needs.
"Louis wants to go out for a bit?"
Those who were invited just nodded, a little tired, and let John take him where he was going.
(Slightly confusing your sentence Louis.)

Unexpectedly what John meant by traveling was to go to the flower festival which was indeed opened right after the classical festival was over. It's the festival season.
The stretch of road that was usually monochrome is now lively with many colorful petals adorning it. The fragrance of flowers wafted through the air, feeling like a second spring even though the breeze reminded them that it wasn't time for flowers to bloom.
"I just found out there was a festival like this at a time, you know what it's like," a look of admiration emanated from the pomegranate beads that kept looking around.
Louis is secretly a fan of plants. He became so fond of growing things that he couldn't use enough Fred's greenhouse.
"Louis wants to see which one first?"
"I want to see everything..!"
'Why am I familiar with this sparkling gaze?' His thoughts flew to a week ago, right at the Moriarty residence. "We are satisfied today by seeing flowers," said John, already happy to see his little lover was no longer sad.
Stall after a stall they came. From exhibiting flowers, vegetables, and fruit to exotic plants that are rarely seen by the two. They also play several games, making flower crowns, arranging bouquets, and much more.
What a colorful day for them.
Now the sun was getting sleepy, slowly emitting an orange glow before its twin took over the throne of the sky.
The park which is not far from the festival venue is the final destination for both. The luggage they bought and the prizes from the games they participated in were placed on the bench, while the two of them sat on the edge of the artificial lake. Luckily the park was empty of visitors because of the festival.
"What a fun day! I didn't even realize I bought a lot of seeds."
"I guess you'll have to hold back on planting them, considering that winter is just around the corner."
"No problem. When spring and summer come, I have a lot of activities that are not boring."
John no longer spoke, letting the serenity of nature overwhelm them. It didn't take long for his thighs to feel heavy, it turned out that Louis was sleeping on his bed.
With a big smile, John stroked the silky blonde hair. The stroke that made the pomegranate beads close was so warm the atmosphere he was feeling right now.
"Louis happy today?"
"If there's a word more than 'happy', then that's how I feel right now." A gentle look that was very rarely seen on a face exposed to that afternoon light. "Thanks for bringing me here, John."
John gave a small smile before his hand took something from the back of his coat pocket. Before long, the thing he had just taken out was placed on Louis' ring finger.
"In this case, I hope you don't reject it, Louis. I bought it not because you remember it, but I want you to be with me forever."
His eyes became blurry for a moment, Louis wouldn't have thought the day would come when he received the item from the person he loved the most.
"This ring may look childish, doesn't it? I was just thinking, 'the daffodils look a lot like Louis' and I ended up buying it without realizing it."
"'Unconscious' again, Doctor Watson?"
"Same as before, when I unknowingly caught your charm, Louis."
The red hue is not shy any more Louis hides. "Impossible, Doctor Watson."
"Ahaha, Louis can stop calling me that."
"Why?" There was a sad frown on his face.
It wasn't long before their foreheads touched, the same as two beads staring into each other's eyes, "because it's not funny when two people with the same last name call each other that, right?"
"How rude, Doctor John."
"You're welcome, my Louis."
The late afternoon, in front of the lake that reflected its light, was a silent witness to how two couples expressed their feelings. From a simple item turned into a strong bond that cannot be broken.
Who would have thought that simple could make permanent happiness for both of them?
Because really, what is simple may be all it takes to make that happiness come and last.
