Summary
In a small, exclusive boarding school in the Nagano mountains, two students meet up every Sunday morning for physics tuition: Kaoru, the stoic and quietly unhappy seventh year straight A student, and Toshiya, the fourth year outcast, subject of salacious rumours and son of the school caretaker. Through a shared musical connection, the two of them forge an unlikely bond that develops into a deep kinship – until a terrible betrayal drives them apart, apparently for good.
The impact of their brief, intense friendship is not easily forgotten though, and as Kaoru and Toshiya grow up and find themselves weaving in and out of each other's adult lives, it is clear that they have a choice to make: to finally accept how abidingly they have shaped one other, or to leave each other behind forever.
