Elizabeth sighed proudly as she stood in her white uniform outside the Hard Deck. She'd made it! She'd been picked to fly at Top Gun! She grinned to herself, pocketing the photo of her parents, Mary and Duke.
She walked into the Hard Deck, waving at her brother at the bar. "Ah! There she is!" He called, grinning back. She jogged over, smiling at his companion. "Oh! It's been ages! How are you? How's everything!?" She ranted. "Relax! We've got ages! The night is still young, little sister!"
She narrowed her eyes playfully. "By less than five minutes." Pete shrugged. "Five minutes nonetheless," She punched his shoulder. "And anyway, I'm taller," She grinned. Pete glared. "By like two inches," He grumbled. She smirked. "Two inches nonetheless," She sang.
Pete scowled.
"Can I have a tequila shot please?" She directed to the barmaid, snickering at the outraged expression on her brother's face. "What? I'm twenty-four, I can drink,"
"I was more surprised at the drink choice," He mumbled over his beer. "Oh, by the way, this is Goose. My RIO,"
Liz smiled at him. "Nice to meet you. I'm Sniper," She nodded. She downed the shot and ordered a babycham. "Cool name. What's it mean?" Goose asked. "I never miss," She winked, drinking. "Mav, with all due respect, your sister's cooler than you," She cackled.

She walked towards the locker room, humming softly to herself. "Papa don't preach, I'm in trouble deep. Papa don't preach, I've been losing sleep," What? She liked Madona! She paused by one of the changing rooms, pressing up against it. Thumps and very audible slaps were made, followed by swears and pained grunts.
It sounded like it was that... Slimer guy, or whatever the hell his name was, beating up somebody that sounded an awful lot like her brother. She rapped on the door and opened it, gasping sharply.
"What the fuck are you doing!?" She snapped. "Whorehouse is back that way, sweetheart," He sneered. "Whorehouse!? Who the fuck do you think you are!?" She yelled, storming in. Slider levelled his stare. "Duke Mitchell, right?" He sneered. Elizabeth glared. "Well done, you can name people. What's the issue with it?" She sneered back. "Liz, just leave it," Pete groaned from behind. She ignored him. "He's a coward, and cowards don't belong in Top Gun..." Elizabeth fumed as he looked her up and down. "Especially... not his offspring,"
She reeled her fist back and struck him in the jaw, swearing. He dropped to the ground. The room erupted into shouts and exclamations. "Come on then big man! You think you can harass my brother because of our father!?" She yelled at the downed aviator. He groaned as he scrambled up.
She narrowed her eyes, menacingly. "Oh, I don't hit girls," He hissed. "Neither do I, yet, there's that bruise on your jaw," She snapped. He clenched his jaw. "Go on, hit me. I'm begging you," She sneered. For a second, it looked like he would...
if it were not for Pete standing in the way. "Pete! What are you doing!?" Elizabeth shouted. She jumped in shock when somebody's fist cracked against his nose. "Pete!" She gasped. "Why?! Why attack somebody for their parent's actions, asshole!?"
Slider spat at her feet. Elizabeth blinked in shock. "His name ruined the navy,"
Elizabeth threw herself at his midsection, swinging and slapping. "How!" Punch. "Dare!" Slap. "You!?" Backhand.
His nose cracked under her fist, and had someone not grabbed her arms and hauled her off, she would have done worse. "Leave it be now, sniper. You've got him." The guy holding her hissed in her ear. She huffed angrily and shook him off. "I don't wanna see you go after my brother again, do you understand?" She spat at Slider. He sneered. "Whatever,"
She rushed to where her brother was struggling upright. "You good?" She asked, grabbing his elbow. He swayed, leaning on the wall. "Nevermind. Goose, can you help me take him to medical?" She swung his arm around her neck. Goose took the other side. "Yeah, it's this way,"
They were silent for a few moments. "So... you can fight?" Elizabeth raised an eyebrow. "Well... yeah? I grew up with dickhead here," She gestured with her head. "Yeah, no. Liz, you broke Slider's nose. That's quite a punch you pack," She laughed.
"She broke mine once as well," She rolled her eyes at her brother's mumble. "Yeah, well, you cut my hair." She stuck her tongue out. Goose laughed.
