Chapter Text
THUD!
Hazal hits the ground with a loud crash, feeling all the air get knocked out from her body by the impact.
"We got you now!" The voice from the weight above her says. The same weight shifts and she finds herself pinned to the ground with both wrists held to the sides of her head by the figure above her.
The disorientation from having been tackled slowly dissipating, Fade finally gets a good look at the woman above her. They stare at each other for a good moment and Fade recollects all that she's learned about the woman.
This was Neon, or otherwise known as Tala Nicole Dimaapi Valdez.
Such a long name.
It wasn't the first time she's seen Neon. Hazal had seen her several times in pictures and the data she'd gathered about her. Hell, she'd already compiled a dossier on her already for the purpose of blackmail. At that moment, she felt a bit superior, believing that she probably knew more about this girl than the other agents most likely did. That's just who she is, she always needed to be a step ahead of everyone else.
That being said. . . this was the first time she's actually seen the radiant agent in person, especially not this close either. Hazal would hate to admit it but her first impression was simply. . .
How pretty.
Neon's disheveled blue hair with beautiful yellow highlights framed her face perfectly. She breathed heavily from the exertion of tackling Hazal at lightning-speed. It was a sight to behold for Hazal, already previously impressed at the agent's sheer raw speed. She didn't even get the chance to react before already finding herself on the ground. As for her face, the anger and irritation on Neon's face was a good look on her, Hazal thought. She looked animated and beautiful.
If this situation happened on any other circumstance, perhaps Fade would have admired the sight above her a while longer. It wasn't every day she had a beautiful girl pinning her down. She's sure she had a flirty line saved for this somewhere, but she knew that this wasn't the time. Whatever in-the-moment infatuation she had for the agent was buried deep and overshadowed by her much stronger anger.
Give him back. Give him back. GIVE HIM BACK.
The voices from her Nightmare grew louder, irritating Hazal further. I know! I get it!
Having her radiant powers suppressed was difficult for Hazal, because it didn't take her powers away, it just kept it inside her and became all the more louder.
"Tala," She says mockingly, causing the agent's eyebrows to shoot up. "How's your parents? Your dog?"
"Shut up!" Her wrists get pushed down to the ground harder, and she starts to feel the hum of growing electrical current on them.
She would get burned by this, but her anger was already burning more.
"I'm serious, how are they? You should check on them, maybe you really did kill them, such a shame." Hazal laughs, she knew full well the nightmares that she had given Neon. It was a terrible sight to see. The agent had lost control of her powers, killing her whole family, with no living being left standing alive but her, she had destroyed everything. Had her mind not been clouded from the anger of losing him, perhaps she would've felt more sympathy over the VALORANT agent's struggles over controlling her power. Hazal knew how that was like very well. However, none of that mattered, she was just angry. She just wanted to hurt Neon.
Deep inside, Hazal was glad she had managed to hurt her the way she had been hurt too.
Her words only further agitate Neon, and she feels the current start to burn her wrists. "You--!"
Pain. Pain. PAIIIIIIINNNNNNNN!
Shut up you.
"Don't listen to her," A masked man says. Cypher, as Hazal recollects. "Her radiant abilities seem to give her the power to see into your fears, it's not real." He hovers over Neon but as her radiance starts spreading through her body, turning her skin blue, and the glow in her eyes brightening, he quickly decides against touching her.
"Is it really?" Hazal continues. "You'll be the death of your family, Tala. You're pathetic."
Are you talking to her or yourself?
Shut up shut up shut up, Fade grows irritated at the voices.
Hazal watches as the last bit of Neon's control truly snaps and she pulls one of her hands back.
Uh oh, this is going to hurt.
"Neon, don't--!" Cypher says but he doesn't get to finish his sentence before Neon launches her fist at Hazal.
Neon's fist and Cypher's voice would be the last thing Fade would see and hear before everything turned black.
It was finally quiet for once.
