Kokomi walked out of the main building of the Traveler's Teapot into the cool, midnight breeze. She always cherished moments like these because it always reminded her of home. The walks around Watatsumi Island and sitting by the seaside until day faded into night. Luckily, the Traveler took a liking to Inzuma's scenery and incorporated some elements of it into their Teapot like the sea and the pink, blue, and purple trees. She often worried about the state of her home while she was away.
She shook her head. If something bad was happening to Watatsumi Island, Gorou would inform her immediately, and she could swim all the way back to help. The Traveler would understand as long as everyone else on the team. Right now, she can relax before another day of adventuring and chaos. She loved everyone on the team, but they can be a bit much sometimes. Also, she couldn't get a lot of time to herself until nightfall where almost everyone is asleep. It's one of the few times she can recharge.
She opted to sit by the seaside this time around because she was too tired to walk around, and it was too dark to go for a swim. There is this specific spot that she always goes to when she sits by the sea which is the unspoken meet up spot with the Cavalry Captain and Chief Alchemist. When she gets there, she sees Albedo drawing in his sketchbook with Kaeya sitting next to him drinking Dandelion Wine, the signature wine of their home. Nights like these always vary depending on their moods. They could talk for hours about stories about their home or secrets that they could never tell anyone else besides the Traveler, or they could sit in a comfortable silence while they did their own things. It seems to be a quiet night this time around.
Kaeya and Albedo turned towards her when they heard faint footsteps approaching them. Kaeya gave her a small wave while Albedo gave her a quite nod. Kokomi waved at the two before settling down next to Kaeya. She noticed a seashell near her, so she decided to put it on her head. If Kaeya and Albedo thought it was weird, they never said anything. They all sat on the sandy beach without saying anything. Waves crashing on the beach, soft winds whistling, and the quiet scratching of Albedo's pencil filled the air.
The solidarity between the three stems from Enkanomiya and Khaenri'ah being allies before their untimely demise. Kokomi knew the stars in Kaeya's eye and Albedo's neck represented Khaenri'ah when she first saw them. Her people knew about Khaenri'ah's and Enkanomiya's allyship, but that's about it. Her family had a few books that went more in detail about it and Khaenri'ah, so she could recognize it the moment she saw them. At first, she was extremely suspicious of them and kept a careful eye. Despite her efforts, she couldn't learn much about them. Kaeya and Albedo were very careful, and they knew how to keep secrets. However, she was able to see that they had no ill-intentions towards Mondstat or any nation. The way they talked about their home showed that they truly cared for it and its people.
One day, Kokomi confronted them about it in the place that would become their spot for their nightly rendezvous. She was happy that she became one of the few people that Kaeya and Albedo could tell some of their secrets to. They didn't tell her everything, and she could tell, but she didn't mind. Nights like these were always welcomed.
Kokomi felt her body become heavy. She took the seashell off of her head and placed it back in its original spot. She leaned against the Cavalry Captain and rested her head on his shoulders. Albedo soon followed as he placed his sketchbook next to him. Kaeya put his arms around them after he took one last swig of his drink. They all watched the waves crash and the stars twinkle before drifting off. For them, this was perfect. It was safe. It was comfortable. It was enough.
