"Mobius, listen to me, I know this is gonna sound strange, but you have to hear me out."
Mobius simply nodded, still stunned to be facing Loki so abruptly.
Loki continued, "I've been pulled through time and I saw terrible, awful things. This is about everything because nothing can stand between this world and utter destruction. War is on its way."
Mobius retorted, with a slight smile on his lips, used to Loki's dramatics, "A little over the top, don't ya think?"
Loki frowned and replied, "I thought it was spot on."
He moved closer to Mobius and put his hand on his forearm tentatively, as if he was afraid the agent would push him away, then said in a slightly lower, almost pleading voice, "I don't want you to think I'm the bad guy in all this, Mobius"
Mobius barely let him finish his sentence and replied directly, "Who said you were?" implying that he was ready to deal with the person who had dared to say that.
Loki shrugged his shoulders in a disillusioned manner, "I don't know. Captain America, Hulk, Black Widow, Hawk Eye, Agent Coulson, Thanos, Nick Fury, my father, my brother, Miss Minutes, you."
Mobius hummed and then realizing what Loki had just said, he raised his head abruptly and replied sharply, "Me?! Me?!"
Mobius grabbed his hand, calmed himself and said in a steady tone, "You could be whoever, whatever you wanna be, even someone good. Do you remember my words, Loki? Do you remember?"
Loki nodded and Mobius continued, "I believed it then and I believe it now, with all my being."
Loki breathed a sigh of relief, then gasped as Mobius wrapped his arms around him and whispered in his ear, "You're still my favorite. And by the way, welcome back."
Loki closed his arms around Mobius, recapturing the sensations of their last physical contact, the reassuringly warm embrace they had shared just before parting ways on the Void.
Yes, he was back.
Everything would be okay now.
